Lamore Forecloses on Fitchburg Property

"Man pursued by State Police crashes car into vacant Sterling house" by Todd Feathers |  Globe Correspondent,  March 14, 2013

A Fitchburg man allegedly led State Police on a high-speed car chase in Sterling that ended when he crashed into a vacant house.

Jarrod A. Lamore, 21, was arraigned in Leominster District Court Thursday on numerous charges, including operating without a license, failure to stop for police, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, according to a State Police statement. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf....

Lamore ran from the vehicle, State Police said. A 22-year-old female passenger who sustained injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, remained behind, State Police said.

Before being taken to HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster, the passenger incorrectly identified the driver of the car to troopers, State Police said. The passenger is not being charged at this time.

Lamore was found about an hour later with the help of a K-9 unit. He was hiding under the stairs of a barn on Pratt Junction Road, the statement said.
