I saw nothing about snow in my scan, but I did find this:
"Freeze leaves Florida Panhandle with dead trees" by Melissa Nelson-Gabriel | Associated Press April 17, 2014
PENSACOLA, Fla. — Non-native palm and fruit trees are a popular but costly part of the Florida’s Panhandle’s landscaping. Nowadays, those trees are mostly withering because of an unusually cold winter....

Anybody find any dead snakes?
The Panhandle may be part of Florida, but it’s not tropical like Miami — it’s more than 300 miles farther north, and the average low temperature in December and January is 40 degrees. Freezing temperatures aren’t uncommon, and this year temperatures plunged into the 20s and below. The region was blanketed by ice for a time.
‘‘Unfortunately there are a lot of South Florida trees that are coming up and being planted in our climate that are not really tolerant of our rare cold freezes,’’ said Carol Lord, an environmental horticulture technician at the Escambia County Extension Service.
But this doesn’t stop Panhandle residents from planting warm-weather trees that are stereotypically Floridian....
They go along with the mixed messages of my new$paper.
Many people are opting to replace lost trees landscaping with less-expensive one that withstand cold better, Mike Robertson, owner of Mike’s Garden, a landscaping company said....
Why would they do that in this age of cata$trophic climate change?

They are also blaming the continuing cold for the bad economy, and I'm $ure I will $ee my $hare of global warming alarmism if I continue to purcha$e.
The only $aving grace was this printed photo you will not see in the web version:
"TAKING ON THE FLOODWATERS -- A resident of Cedar Creek Township in Michigan set out from her home on Wednesday in search of gasoline to run a generator to power pumps. There was three feet of water in her basement. Some homes in the area were reachable only by boat as the Muskegon River was rising this week (Boston Globe April 17 2014)."
What they don't tell you is one reason the floods are occurring is because of record snowfall this past winter, but that's okay. I'm not complaining.
Among the top reasons I want to no longer purchase:
"Kan. suspect has long history of racism" by Ashley Halsey III | Washington Post April 17, 2014
There was a sense that behind his mirrored aviator sunglasses, the eyes of Frazier Glenn Cross were burning with intensity. They always did when he spewed racist bitterness, and anyone who would listen got an earful.
You don't find that here.
‘‘White people just getting fed up,’’ said Cross, also known as Frazier Glenn Miller. ‘‘We’re building a white Christian army. We don’t make any bones about that.’’
The U.S already has a military.
That morning, in the summer of 1984, he was at the apex of his white racist crusade, a pinnacle from which he would tumble in disgrace, denounced as a coward and traitor by the people he sought to lead.
Yeah, he sang like a government-instigating canary.
That was how long ago?
Almost 30 years later, he is in a suburban Kansas City jail cell, charged with fatally shooting three people at random Sunday outside a Jewish community center and a Jewish retirement home. Anyone familiar with his long history of anti-Semitism would figure that if Cross was the one who shot those three people, he thought they were Jewish.
But none of those who died — William Lewis Corporon, 69; his grandson Reat Griffin Underwood, 14; and Terri LaManno, 53 — were Jewish.
Cross made his first court appearance Tuesday
***********
A longtime devotee of Adolf Hitler, Cross, 73, described himself as a Nazi-turned-Klansman. ‘‘That swastika turns too many people off,’’ he said. ‘‘The Klan name has tremendous appeal to so-called rednecks. You know, the rough, tough, beer-drinking, barroom brawlers.’’
Just can't kill that guy, and all the images it calls up in the inculcated and indoctrinated mind.
Yeah, let's stereotype and roll 'em all up into a bundle.
In his police mug shot, he is graying, bearded, and disheveled, a far cry from the figure he cut three decades earlier after 20 years in the military.
Another Sikh psyop?
************
Standing there, arms folded across his chest, sleeves torn off his T-shirt and eyes hidden behind the mirrored sunglasses, he clearly was not cut from the same cloth as many other Klan leaders.
Rather than join a long-established Klan group, he had formed his own faction, the Carolina Knights, in 1980.
The leader of the traditional Klan group, the North Carolina Knights, Virgil Griffin, was a gas station attendant who couldn’t read. His Klansmen, who took part in the infamous 1979 killings known as ‘‘the Greensboro massacre,’’ tended to be uneducated roughnecks.
Cross’ military background — he served two tours in Vietnam before being forced to retire from the Army for distributing racist propaganda — attracted veterans who tended to be more educated, disciplined, and virulently racist.
Meaning the government knew about the guy and had him on radar, and as we have seen over the years this guy was likely sent into the movement to guide and direct it. You only need government if there is a "bad guy" out there, be they "terrorists" or government operatives themselves. It wouldn't be the first time the government has played both sides of an issue (think wars, drugs).
I'm sorry, folks, but I'm of the belief that the domestic terror groups are created, funded, and directed by the government itself. It's covert, but it is no different than the FBI frame-ups of Muslim idiots.
Yes, there are people who care about freedom and self-defense in this nation, but it's not this cut-out. He's here to tar any and all government can associate with him, fair or not.
‘‘We’re working now on the spirit of Southern nationalism rather than secession, although I’d love to see it,’’ Cross said. ‘‘The white race is dying out. That’s what concerns me. Future generations are going to be a bunch of mix-breeded, kinky-headed, slant-eyed, fur-headed mongrels with bubble lips.’’
Uh-huh. Give anyone wanting to secede from not only the oppressive federal boot, but even those calling for secession from our own states (like me. I want Western Mass independent because Boston and points east dominate this state, it's where all the money goes, and I'm not particularly fond of the neighboring states north, west, and south, either. And yet here I am, accepting the will of the majority and not really raising too much a stink. As with all the other social divides -- race, gender, sex choice, age, whatever wedge they can think of -- I recognize them as diversions and distractions from the powers and in$titutions that effect us all. It's the endle$$ wars for empire, the ma$$ looting of the nation, and the rise of the $urveillance $tate that are the issues, not all this whoreporate media-driven division).
Three days later, dressed in a hooded white robe, he held a torch to the base of a massive wooden cross and watched the flames crawl upward as more than 100 robed Klansmen chanted ‘‘White power.’’
With a military pension to support his wife and four children, he said he could devote himself full time to developing his new army and teaching his children about the evils of ‘‘race mixing.’’
Yes, he was literally getting a check from the government.
Not long after that, his Carolina Knights morphed into a new organization, the White Patriot Party.
Giving "patriots" of any color a bad name, thanks.
Though the new group has been described as a Klan outfit, it seemed much closer to its Nazi roots. He insisted that he was training his army only for self-defense, but law enforcement sources said the tactics being taught went far beyond personal defense.
After evidence was unearthed of a plot to assassinate Morris Dees, head of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that tracks hate organizations, a court issued an order barring the group from engaging in paramilitary activity.
Yeah, turns out them and the ADL are hate groups themselves.

And the agenda being picked-up and pushed?
"A year after background check defeat, modest goals" by Alan Fram | Associated Press April 17, 2014
WASHINGTON — Democratic worries about this November’s elections, a lack of Senate votes, and House opposition are forcing congressional gun-control supporters to winnow their 2014 agenda.
***********
With Senate majority leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, wary of exposing Democratic senators facing tight reelection contests in conservative and Western states to politically risky votes — and the Republican-run House showing no appetite to restrict guns — people are not holding their breath waiting for proposed restrictions to reach the Senate floor before Election Day.
Interesting how the Nevada ranch/BLM story is completely absent from my Globe, 'eh? I'd link anything I saw if they had anything.
‘‘This kind of change doesn’t happen overnight,’’ said Dan Gross of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. ‘‘There are obviously a lot of other considerations and variables in play here, like elections.’’
You may have noticed I'm not mucking around with the politics too much anymore. F*** the $hit $how fooley.
Democrat of Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar’s bill on stalkers would play into Democrats’ campaign-season theme of pushing legislation that appeals to women, a key Democratic voting bloc.
Yeah, what a coincidence that this plays into the theme.
As for the women, maybe you should say something to Obama.
She said Tuesday she has discussed her legislation with Reid but did not ask about holding a vote because she is first trying to round up Republican support to make the measure bipartisan.
Then this is what they call agenda-pushing filler.
Democratic caution has been displayed several times recently, even as the December 2012 killings of 20 children and six adults at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., that fanned interest in firearms restrictions fade into the past.

Conn. suspect, 22, dies after police use stun gun
Yes, staged and scripted hoaxes that push agendas forward seem to get vastly more print than the crimes of law enforcement, where something like 8 citizens are murdered by "security" services every day.
But hey, it's the thin blue line protecting those in power so I'm not complaining.
The September 2013 shooting deaths of 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard and this week’s slaying of three people outside Jewish community centers in Overland Park, Kan., were greeted with no fresh Democratic legislative pushes.
Oh, yeah the Navy Yard, yeah.
And in the face of National Rifle Association opposition last month, the White House paused its effort to push its surgeon general nominee through the Senate — Dr. Vivek Murthy, a Harvard Medical School physician, Obama political organizer, and gun-control supporter.

‘‘They’re waiting for another tragedy to exploit,’’ Chris Cox, the NRA’s chief lobbyist, said of the Senate hiatus on activity.
True, whether you like it or not. Some might even call such things "opportunities."
White House officials say they have not abandoned the issue. They cite 23 executive orders Obama issued last year, including restarting research on gun violence....
It's dictatorship, and no one gives a damn.

Are the guys obse$$ed with gun control?
‘‘We’re just going to keep pushing until Congress does the right thing,’’ presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett told gun- control activists last week.
Message received: they are right, and anyone who disagrees is wrong.
That's scary coming from this government.

Something even scarier:
"Israel police disperse riot at Jerusalem holy site" Associated Press April 17, 2014
JERUSALEM — Israeli police stormed a sensitive holy site in Jerusalem on Wednesday, firing tear gas to disperse a protest by Palestinian Muslim worshipers, officials said.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the crowd hurled stones and firecrackers from atop the compound known to Jews as the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism. Rosenfeld said police then entered the site and dispersed the group with tear gas and other nonlethal means.
I hope you will forgive me if I don't take the Zionist word for events.
The compound is known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and is Islam’s third-holiest site. Israel captured the area along with the rest of East Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 war.
Clashes often erupt at the site.
Jews typically pray below, at the Western Wall, but tensions have grown lately with an increased number of Jews arriving to pray at the Temple Mount as well. Israel permits Jews to ascend to the Temple Mount for visits, but they are barred from praying at the site. These visits often stoke rumors that Israel is preparing to take over the site.
Those have been out there for a while, and for some religious extremists on the Judeo-Christian side it signals the fulfillment of prophecy and end times. Given Israel's position regarding the "peace" talks with Palestinians, I'm sure this is in their plans for a Greater Israel.
Sheikh Azzam Tamimi, head of the Waqf, the Islamic authority that manages the site, said worshipers had barricaded themselves inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque ‘‘to defend’’ the site from Jewish groups.
I'm more likely to believe that version than I am the Zionist one.
Israeli TV stations showed footage of police running across the compound in riot gear with piles of stones strewn on the ground. The entrance to the mosque was barricaded with furniture, as protesters inside threw objects toward police. Tamimi said 30 people suffered from tear gas inhalation or had been struck by rubber-coated bullets. None of the injuries appeared to be serious.
Jews flock to the Western Wall during the weeklong Passover holiday. Police closed access to the adjacent Temple Mount compound after Wednesday’s clash.
The site is ground zero in the territorial and religious conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors. Its gold-topped Dome of the Rock enshrines the rock where Muslims believe the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven. Jews believe the compound is the site where the two biblical Jewish Temples stood — and where religious Jews pray a third Temple will one day be built.
What better way to not only kill peace talks, but enflame the whole Muslim world! WWIII right around the corner!

Such Israeli incitement during a blood moon.
While I no longer believe in prophecy, when you look across the planet through the pri$m of the people seeking to dominate it and their attempted molding of minds with mouthpiece propaganda it becomes clear that something very bad is about to happen very soon.
So what western city will suffer a nuclear bomb attack, and whom does the false flag script call for blame so the propaganda pre$$ can officially declare a WWIII?
