African Friday

Think of it as a next day update of sorts:

"Hundreds killed in attacks in Nigeria; Villagers rounded up by militants posing as soldiers" by Haruna Umar | Associated Press   June 06, 2014

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — When men wearing military fatigues and carrying weapons showed up in pickup trucks, villagers thought Nigerian soldiers had finally come to protect them from Boko Haram.

But it was a disguise. The gunmen rounded up everyone in the village center and then started shooting.

Altogether, Boko Haram militants slaughtered hundreds of people in three villages in the far northeast corner of Nigeria, witnesses said Thursday, describing the latest attack by the Islamist extremist group that drew international attention for the kidnapping of more than 300 schoolgirls.

So is my relationship with the Bo$ton Globe.

A community leader who witnessed the killings Monday said residents had pleaded for the military to send soldiers to protect the area after they heard that militants were about to attack.

The militants arrived in Toyota HiLux pickup trucks — commonly used by the military — and told the civilians they were soldiers and that they had come ‘‘to protect you all,’’ the same tactic used by the group when they kidnapped the girls from a school in the town of Chibok on April 15.

Well, a whole bunch of military guys were just convicted of helping them.

‘‘We all thought they were the soldiers whom we earlier reported to that the insurgents might attack us,’’ said the community leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he feared for his life.

After the militants forced everyone into the village centers, ‘‘they began to shout ‘Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar,’ then they started to fire at the people continuously for a very long time until all who had gathered were dead,’’ he said.

I'm convinced everything my war-promoting propaganda pre$$ mouthpiece says is true, how about you?

The killings took place in the villages of Danjara, Agapalwa, and Antagara, part of Gwoza district in Borno state. The community leader said he fled to Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, adding that some who escaped the massacre crossed into the neighboring country of Cameroon while others remain trapped in the mountainous region.

‘‘They still see the gunmen going about attacking villages and hamlets by setting them on fire,’’ he said.

This so reeks of intelligence agency assets and a false flag.

He said he managed to survive because ‘‘I was going around to inform people that the soldiers had come and they wanted to address us.’’ As people were fleeing, other gunmen lurked outside the villages on motorcycles and mowed them down.

Murky lurking.

The slaughter was confirmed by Mohammed Ali Ndume, a senator representing Borno whose hometown is Gwoza, and by a top security official in Maiduguri who insisted on anonymity because he is not allowed to speak to the media.

It took a few days for survivors to get word of the massacres to Maiduguri because travel on the roads is extremely dangerous and phone connections are poor or nonexistent.

In another strike in Borno state, militants attacked Alagarno, a village near Chibok where the girls were kidnapped, and destroyed it, according to Pogu Bitrus, a Chibok community. People heard gunshots as the fighters were approaching and were able to flee, he said.

Ndume said the military has assured the Borno state governor that it would dispatch soldiers immediately.

‘‘It is sad that we have to wait until now that people are being killed for government to take action,’’ he said. ‘‘Soldiers of the Nigerian army have been overstretched in both human and material capacity.’’

Calls to defense spokesman Chris Olukolade’s mobile phone did not connect. An e-mail sent to him seeking comment was not answered. Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

I don't blame them; they would be responding to a situation that may not even exist. I'm being told it does to the left of me here on my desk, but that doesn't mean any of it is true.

Sad thing is, I'm on safer ground believe it is all false these days because it most likely is.

Nigeria’s military has said an influx of troops and a year-old state of emergency in Borno and two other states have the insurgents on the run. But soldiers told AP that they are outgunned and outnumbered by insurgents, do not have bullet-proof vests, are not properly paid, and must forage for food.

Boko Haram, which wants to set up an Islamic state in Nigeria, has been taking over villages in the northeast, killing and terrorizing civilians and political leaders. Thousands of people have been killed in the five-year-old insurgency, more than 2,000 so far just this year, and 750,000 Nigerians have been driven from their homes.

U.S better invade and set up an oligarchical oil ally then. No other choice.

"Sudanese woman appeals ‘apostasy’ death sentence" Associated Press   June 06, 2014

KHARTOUM, Sudan — A Sudanese woman sentenced to death for refusing to recant her Christian faith after authorities said she converted from Islam has appealed the sentence, her lawyer said.

The appeal demands the release of Meriam Ibrahim, saying the court that tried her committed ‘‘procedural errors,’’ her lawyer, Eman Abdul-Rahim, said.

Ibrahim was sentenced to death for ‘‘apostasy’’ last month by a Khartoum court for converting to Christianity from Islam. She maintains that her Muslim father left when she was young and that she was raised a Christian by her Ethiopian mother, who is an Orthodox Christian.

Ibrahim married a Christian man, Daniel Wani, from southern Sudan in a church ceremony in 2011. As in many Muslim nations, Muslim women in Sudan are prohibited from marrying non-Muslims, though Muslim men can marry outside their faith.

Wani is now a US citizen living in New Hampshire.

Ibrahim has a son, 18-month-old Martin, who is living with her in jail, where she gave birth to a second child last week. By law, children must follow their father’s religion.

A video obtained by the AP shows Ibrahim with her newborn and Martin at the prison’s hospital where she gave birth.

Amnesty International condemned the sentence against Ibrahim, calling it ‘‘abhorrent,’’ and the US State Department said it was ‘‘deeply disturbed.’’

Let's invade Sudan then!

For the sake of the women and children, of course. Would have nothing to do with the oil.

Don't try Kenya, either:

"Security presence increased at US Embassy in Nairobi" by Jason Straziuso | Associated Press   June 06, 2014

NAIROBI — The Marine stood behind a camouflaged sandbag bunker atop the US Embassy in Nairobi and scanned the horizon with binoculars. What he saw was a busy street that officials fear is full of targets for an attack by Al Qaeda-linked militants because diplomatic missions are in the neighborhood.

Meaning there is a false flag in the works or it is the standard yo-yo to keep you on eggshells and the narrative running.

More than 15 years after Al Qaeda destroyed the US Embassy in Nairobi with a massive truck bomb that killed more than 200 people, fear is rising that US diplomatic personnel and property could again be targeted. Armed Marines are now stationed on the embassy’s roof, one indication of recent security upgrades.

We already saw this.

So all the improvements, wars in the name of security, torture and renditions, security surveillance and all, means absolutely nothing, huh?

All that time and money wasted.

Intelligence has been circulating in the region the last two months that American interests are the next intended target for Al Shabab, a Qaeda-linked group in Somalia responsible for last year’s attack on Nairobi’s Westgate Mall, said a Kenyan police official who insisted on anonymity to talk about security matters.

See: Kenya Shutter Click

The mall attack turned out to be staged and scripted theater.

Where did these propagandists go to school anyway?

The terrorist group has also shown interest in attacking the US military base in Djibouti, just north of Somalia, and there were indications that the US Embassy in Ethiopia was being considered as a target last year, said Matt Bryden, the former head of the United Nations Monitoring Group on Somalia and Eritrea and a top specialist on Al Shabab.

Well, if they KNOW ALL THIS then they can SURELY STOP IT, right?

Folks, the FRAUD has turned into a FARCE and it is making flying, looting government look f***ing FOOLISH!

This BLATANT TELEGRAPHING of a FALSE FLAG STINKS to HIGH HEAVEN (whoever is up there).

Ambassador Robert Godec told some 400 Americans last week at a town hall meeting: ‘‘We know that there’s a threat, and we know it’s serious.’’ Diplomats have indicated that global terrorists affiliated with Al Qaeda are moving into the region.

Sent there by the CIA and AmeriKa because the attempt at a coup in Syria has fallen apart.

The embassy looks likely to scale back the number of US personnel stationed in Kenya, in part by reducing or moving the East Africa mission for the US aid agency USAID.

Everyone in the world now knows AID = CIA.

Militants now use multiple IEDs in a single attack, and gunmen on suicide missions.

Yeah, whatever, uh-huh, yup, yup, yup.

President Uhuru Kenyatta said Wednesday his government is committed to protecting Kenya. The military is planning to station troops on roads potentially used by Al Shabab to enter Kenya.

‘‘Serious tests lie before us,’’ Kenyatta said.

Whatever happened to the war crimes charges against this guy?

Something that hasn't made the news much recently, and a situation that may be more serious:

"UN cites war crimes in C. African Republic" by Cara Anna | Associated Press   June 06, 2014

UNITED NATIONS — ‘‘Ample evidence’’ exists that both sides in the devastating conflict in Central African Republic have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, a UN report says.

A commission of inquiry’s preliminary report, obtained Thursday by the Associated Press, said it is too early to determine whether genocide or ethnic cleansing had occurred. That appears to conflict with an earlier UN human rights assessment that ethnic cleansing has occurred in the months of fighting between Christians and Muslims. At least one prominent human rights group, Amnesty International, quickly objected to the new report’s finding.

The report also says that neighboring countries, notably Chad, ‘‘participated or helped the parties to the armed conflict’’ and that perhaps Central African Republic’s unprecedented sectarian violence will be proven to be an international conflict, not just an internal one.

Sectarianism is just another Jewish-propaganda front to get us all fighting amongst ourselves while providing cover for what is occurring there. Seen it all over the globe, and now I know better. Governments foment division for purposes of war; most people want to live together peacefully. What you see here is the groundwork being laid for even deeper UN and EUSraeli involvement.

Thousands have been killed since the fighting began in December, and thousands of Muslims have fled the country. The sectarian nature of the violence has shocked the international community, and its ferocity has led to beheadings of children and the burning of entire villages.

Another Nigeria.

In the chaos, one of the world’s poorest countries has been left with a largely powerless transitional government.

A UN peacekeeping force of several thousand soldiers is expected in Central African Republic in September, but the report warns that if the international community ‘‘does not react with speed and determination,’’ the situation could quickly deteriorate even further, leading to genocide and ethnic cleansing.

In other words, this is to get them there quicker (the same deke that we saw when UN forces invaded the Ivory Coast).

NEXT DAY UPDATE:

"Somali militants block food access" Associated Press   June 07, 2014

MOGADISHU, Somalia — Severe hunger is spreading in southern Somalia, where militants have encircled several towns in the control of African Union forces, preventing food deliveries there, residents and officials say. Deaths from malnutrition and hunger have been reported.

African Union forces fighting Al Shabab militants have moved into several towns across southern Somalia, pushing the militants out. But the consequence has been that the militants are blocking shipments of food from entering the town, creating a scene of hungry desperation.

They spell that wrong; it's Al-CIA-Bab (pronounced Al-SHA-Bob).

‘‘Al Shabab’s tactic of encirclement has prevented commercial activity and humanitarian assistance to newly recovered areas,’’ Valerie Amos, the top UN official on humanitarian issues, told the UN Security Council this week.

The average prices of basic food items has more than doubled in many regions, and more than 70,000 people have been displaced as a result of the fighting, she said.

Cui bono?

Overnight attacks marked by explosions have become the norm. Food is being airlifted into some areas but that effort has limited effect.

Oh, the new "norm" for Somalis, 'eh? And I so rarely read about it.
