Sunday Globe Special: Sky Is Literally Falling at Logan Airport

Here is a helpful hint: Don't use the women's bathroom.

"Nude man falls through ceiling at Logan, allegedly assaults bystander" by Rachel Riley and Juan Esteban Cajigas Jimenez, Globe Correspondents  November 23, 2014

Two suspects were arrested and charged with assault in separate incidents at Logan Airport on Saturday, State Police said, while a brief security scare was touched off when a son of former baseball player Curt Schilling left a toy grenade in his carry-on luggage.

At around noon, a woman using a restroom in Terminal C reported that a naked man had fallen through the ceiling into the stall area before running out, State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said.

The man, 26-year-old Cameron Shenk of Boston, then assaulted a 84-year-old man he encountered upon fleeing from the restroom, Procopio said.

I hate to say it, but the name looks like a variant of a certain tribe.

A sick pervert, huh?

*********

A State Police investigation indicates that Shenk sneaked into the woman’s bathroom just before noon, taken his clothes off in one of the stalls, and climbed into the crawl space above the restroom before crashing through the ceiling.

What was he going to do up there all naked?

Just a few minutes before, motorists outside Terminal A saw a young female passenger screaming from inside a vehicle that had just pulled up at the Delta Air Lines entrance, Procopio said. The woman had kicked out a car window.

Troopers followed the car to Terminal B at the United Airlines entrance, where a cruiser pulled in front of the car, allowing the woman to leave the vehicle, Procopio said. The victim, identified as a 21-year-old Woburn resident, said the driver punched her in the face after she refused to give him money.

The driver, Anton Hilton, 52, of Roxbury, was arrested and charged with assault and battery and kidnapping.

The victim is a friend of the driver’s daughter and had been staying with him, said Procopio, who added that the woman declined medical attention.

That is kind of anti-climactic.

The incident with Schilling was made public through his Facebook page and a series of tweets that began at 7:26 a.m.: “Start your day with this. Going through airport security. Son says “DAD! I think I [left a] fake grenade in my bag.”

Good thing he wasn't a kid at a playground in Cleveland with a toy gun.

Schilling, who did not say which of his sons was involved, later tweeted: “15 TSA agents are on their walkie talkies. Police show up and everyone in line is shooed 50 yards away. Police, TSA could not . . . have been cooler once they realized what was happening.”

Jennifer Mehigan, assistant director of media relations for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which runs Logan, confirmed the incident.

“The safety and security of the people who use our facilities as well as our employees is our top priority,” she said.

"Logan assault suspect attends Harvard Extension School

The 26-year-old Boston man who allegedly was naked when he fell through the ceiling of a Logan Airport women’s bathroom and then bit and choked an elderly man on Saturday afternoon is a student at the Harvard University Extension School, officials said. Cameron Shenk is pursuing a bachelor of liberal arts in extension studies, university spokeswoman Anna Cowenhoven said Monday. The Extension School, which is independent of Harvard College, offers continuing education through open-enrollment courses, as well as professional certificates and liberal arts-based undergraduate and graduate degree programs aimed at nontraditional students....

Yeah, I guess so.

You judge for yourself about what you see:

Cameron Shenk is facing charges including mayhem, attempted murder, and assault and battery on a police officer.

Looks like a creep, and now he is out on bail?

"Man who fell through Logan Airport ceiling released to father’s custody

A Boston man who allegedly crashed naked through the ceiling of a women’s restroom at Logan International Airport on Nov. 22 and then assaulted an elderly bystander was released to the custody of his father on Monday, Suffolk prosecutors said. Cameron Shenk, 26, at a hearing in East Boston Municipal Court, was ordered to remain under house arrest and have his father live with him. Judge John E. McDonald also ordered Shenk to undergo a mental health evaluation, wear a GPS tracking bracelet, stay drug free, undergo random drug tests, and stay away from victims, witnesses, and the airport, said Jake Wark, a spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley."

So what was he on, if anything, and what is with the lenient treatment (although I guess it is probably standard for the sex sickos like this)?

"Logan adding nonstop flights to Tel Aviv; Route will help Israeli firms in Massachusetts" by Taryn Luna, Globe Correspondent  November 10, 2014

Add Tel Aviv to the growing list of international cities that are a nonstop flight away from Boston.

Governor Deval Patrick and the Massachusetts Port Authority on Monday reached an agreement with El Al Israel Airlines, which will offer three nonstop flights a week to Israel, beginning in June. Logan currently handles nonstop flights to 41 overseas destinations.

“The appetite for it runs deep,” Patrick said. “The excitement about it is broad, and we are convinced that both the load and the yield will be as good for El Al as I know the route will be for us.”

Patrick made the announcement at a press conference at the State House, where he was joined by David Maimon, chief executive of El Al.

The governor commended business, community, and academic leaders, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who had worked behind the scenes to bring the airline to Logan since his initial trade mission to Israel, in 2011. He led a second delegation there in May.

Until I started doing this blog I never realized how deeply ingrained Israel is into the state, or recognized how much Jewish influence there was. I know it is due to the growing presence in Boston and among the ruling cla$$; however, even I am amazed at the subservience even now.

Patrick referred to Israel as “one of the most productive commercial and cultural relationships that we have.” The governor said 200 companies with Israeli roots operate in Massachusetts and collectively employ nearly 7,000 people in the state. Many were attracted by the technology and health care centers.

You don't have to sing there praises, and it just so happens those two indu$tries dominate my bu$ine$$ section.

Nadav Efraty said he moved the company he founded in Israel to Newton after he met Patrick during the first trade mission. Now, Desalitech Inc., a desalination company that treats and purifies sewage and other wastewater, has projects and employees in both locations.

As they dump that stuff in Palestinian waters.

You drink your fill yet?

Efraty said the new flight will make it easier for his workers to fly back and forth each week and decreases their travel time from about 14 hours to nine hours each way.

“Our situation is not unique,” Efraty said. “This is going to be very helpful to the businesses here and to the community. It is great to see it finally happening.”

EMC Corp., the Hopkinton data storage giant, has a large presence and a long history of investment in Israel, said vice chairman William Teuber. The company has also acquired several Israel-based businesses, such as ScaleIO, XtremIO, and RSA, over the years.

Well, now we know who is helping Israel collect and store the raw stuff the NSA is giving them.

“This flight will make all the things we do there easier to access,” he said in a statement. “It’s good news for the region, and for EMC.”

The route is one of 13 nonstop destinations that have been added to Logan’s flight list since Patrick took office and focused on connecting Boston to major international markets.

Among the more recent routes is a Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul, launched in May, and a Hainan Airlines trip to Beijing that began in June. Cathay Pacific intends to begin offering a trip to Hong Kong next spring.

So I guess all the protestspolice actions, court ordersstrikes, and the rest doesn't really much matter, huh?

Currently, El Al flies directly to just three US cities: Los Angeles, New York and Newark, N.J. Thomas Glynn, chief executive of Massport, said Boston had to compete against larger American cities to attract the airline.

“Chicago wanted this route,” Glynn said. “San Francisco wanted this route. Miami wanted this route. There were a lot of other cities shooting at us.”

Massport says the Boston-Tel Aviv market averages 91 passengers a day in each direction and generated more than $45 million in ticket sales last year.

A Boeing 767-300 ER airplane with 218 seats will leave Tel Aviv at 12:30 a.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday and land in Boston at 5:45 a.m. The flight to Tel Aviv departs from Boston at 9 p.m. that evening and arrives at 3:05 p.m. the next day, according to Massport.

El Al is considered one of the safest airlines in the world because of its tight security. Passengers are advised to arrive hours earlier than other travelers and are interviewed by agents.

Right. Amazing how they are never hit but are in charge of all the airport security on 9/11, the underwear bombers, and all the rest.

The airline will have its own screening process for departing passengers at Logan before they check in and go through the regular TSA security line.

Oh, wow, what a perfect place from which to pass through a false flag.

The route cannot be finalized until it is approved by the El Al’s board of directors, which is expected to meet in the next few weeks.
