Corrupt State Senator Won't Go Quietly

"Wilkerson averts more legal problems; Belatedly pays remainder of fine" by Donovan Slack, Globe Staff | September 19, 2008

State Senator Dianne Wilkerson narrowly averted more legal troubles yesterday, rushing a $1,200 check to the attorney general's office after prosecutors said they were considering taking her to court for failing to fully pay a fine levied against her for campaign finance violations.

Un-fucking-believable!!

What is with these ELITE STINK SHITS??? They TRULY BELIEVE they are ABOVE the LAW!

Could YOU or I get away with such conduct, readers? NO WAY!!!!

Until late yesterday afternoon, Wilkerson had paid only half of the $2,200 fine and also had not met other requirements of a settlement announced Aug. 1, state officials said.

Are you effin kidding?

The lapses - made public earlier yesterday, two days after she lost a Democratic primary - had prompted the office of Attorney General Martha Coakley to begin a fresh review and ponder whether new penalties were in order.

"We're reviewing our legal options at this time," Jill Butterworth, Coakley's deputy press secretary, said just hours before Wilkerson paid up. After the payment was made, Coakley's office said Wilkerson was in compliance and would not face legal action.

Hey, POLITICS has its PREREQUISITES!!!!

Neither Wilkerson nor her campaign aides returned calls seeking comment yesterday. But it appears she got at least one break from the state.

Yeah, one YOU or I would NOT have gotten!!!

Wilkerson scrambled to pay off the fine yesterday as she was considering whether to ask for a recount of the primary election results, which showed that she was defeated by Sonia Chang-Díaz, a former school teacher from Jamaica Plain, by just 228 votes.

On Wednesday, two people in the Wilkerson camp briefed on the situation said the senator also is considering waging a sticker or write-in campaign in November. But if she takes that route, the senator would no longer have the support of Governor Deval Patrick, who had endorsed her primary campaign.

She never should have had it in the first place!!!!

The governor has now decided to throw his backing to Chang-Díaz.
