KABUL - An Afghan police officer opened fire on US troops inside a police station in eastern Afghanistan, killing an American soldier and wounding several others, officials said yesterday. The shooting took place in Paktia province Sunday after US troops and Afghan police brought militant suspects to the station. It was not clear whether the officer who opened fire was a militant who had infiltrated the station (AP)."
