Why Todays Kids Are No Fun

But why they are good in school, and why I'm glad I'm an old fart (who nevertheless had a splendid hoop game today):

"All homework, no play? Parents, young children are put to the test as schools raise the academic burden in a more competitive world" by Tom Haines, Globe Staff | September 27, 2008

"It's killing kids interest in learning," said Alfie Kohn, author of "The Homework Myth." Kohn says six hours of class is enough for a 7-year-old mind, and that even parents helping to keep a reading log makes work out of a childhood pleasure.

"You have . . . families in perpetual conflict," Kohn said, "where parents have to be the enforcers of the school's agenda."

That is your GLOBALIST, STATE-CONTROLLED SCHOOL SYSTEM of BRAINWASHING for you!

Kathy Gover, a mother of three who teaches fifth grade at Bradley Elementary in East Boston, offered another observation: "A lot of kids don't know how to play today."

No, but they DO know how to MAKE WAR, no?

--more--"

If the crap they are teaching is boring lies, then nothing will change that -- except interesting truths, of course.
