Cause and Effect in Pakistan

Of course, nothing from my War Daily about this:

Cause

"Hauliers stop Nato supplies

PESHAWAR, Dec 15: Haulage companies have stopped delivering to foreign troops in Afghanistan after a major deterioration in security along the key supply route.

"We have stopped supplies to foreign forces in Afghanistan from today," Mohammad Shakir Afridi, president of the Khyber Transport Association, told AFP on Monday. "We have around 3,500 trucks, tankers and other vehicles. We are the major suppliers to Afghanistan, transporting about 60-70 per cent of goods," he said.

He said the decision had been taken in view of worsening law and order along the 55kms stretch between Peshawar and the Khyber Pass. The bulk of the supplies and equipment required by Nato and US-led forces in Afghanistan is shipped to Karachi and taken by truck to depots outside Peshawar before being transported to Afghanistan.

Mr Afridi said drivers had been putting their lives at risk by transporting goods through the area. "The situation is extremely bad for us," he said. "We have nothing to do with politics, we want peace."

Nato downplayed the development, saying its contractors were operating as normal....

That's it! I'm sick of the lies.

Effect

"Suspected US drone kills 2 in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - A suspected US drone aircraft fired a missile into a house in Pakistan's North Waziristan region on the Afghan border yesterday, killing two people, Pakistani security agency officials said.

US forces in Afghanistan, frustrated by a spreading Taliban insurgency that is getting support from militant enclaves in northwest Pakistan, have stepped up strikes by pilotless drones despite Pakistani objections.

Lip service!

"Pakistani officials have made clear that they regard the Predator attacks as a less objectionable violation of Pakistani sovereignty"

Or they do it themselves: Pakistan Sacrifices 30 Souls on US-Indian Altar

There was no immediate information about the identity of the two people killed in the strike in the village of Tabi, 3 miles east of the region's main town of Miranshah, the two security agency officials said....

I don't care who they were; they are ALL INNOCENT!! 9/11 an INSIDE JOB and I WANT the SLAUGHTER to STOP!!!

***************

The attacks have killed more than 220 people, including foreign militants, according to reports from Pakistani intelligence agents, district government officials and residents.

Yup, that's AT LEAST 220 MORE UNIQUE SOULS LOST due to a LIE! And that is "including" militants, huh? Which means SOME WERE NOT!! Some were WOMEN and CHILDREN, no doubt!!!! Missiling a house?

The United States and Afghanistan have long pressed Pakistan to do more to eliminate the militant sanctuaries in remote ethnic Pashtun areas that no government has ever controlled.

And no government ever will, inshallah, save THAT which they CHOOSE for THEMSELVES!!

Here is ANOTHER STORY my MSM newspaper ignored:

US accuses Britain over military failings in Afghanistan

Allegations that British troops in Helmand are snide, underequipped and often need rescuing have soured relations

Allegations that British troops in Helmand are snide, underequipped and often need rescuing have soured relations

The performance of Britain’s overstretched military in Afghanistan is coming under sustained criticism from the Pentagon and US analysts even as Gordon Brown ponders whether to send in further reinforcements.

Robert Gates, the US Defence Secretary who has been asked to remain in his job under Barack Obama, is understood to have expressed strong reservations about counterinsurgency operations in British-controlled Helmand province....

********************

The Americans have grievances over Britain’s lack of equipment, including helicopters, which has left troops unable to perform the same tasks as US counterparts and led to more cautious tactics. There is also grumbling about the regularity with which US airstrikes are called to rescue British troops....

A British officer in Afghanistan expressed surprise at the criticism from the US. “They have few enough allies who will actually do any fighting,” he told The Times.

Gee, maybe the Brits will about-face again after that insult!!
