Boston police are trying a new tactic as they battle the rising number of cellphone robberies in the city: cracking down on stores that buy and sell used cellphones.
After undercover sting operations at two stores - one in Dorchester, the other in Roxbury - the storeowners are facing charges under a state law that bars buying and selling secondhand goods without a license, police said yesterday. Storeowners would face a fine of $20 for each violation, police said....

Police said they were undertaking a multipronged effort to address this issue and prevent future robberies. They said that the department's school unit was working closely with the School Department to raise awareness among students, and that police had collaborated with 10th-graders from Boston Arts Academy to create an awareness poster.

The phones are popular with teenagers and college students. A large number of the robberies happened after the teenagers left their schools at the end of the day, police said....
I have an idea: let's BAN the DAMN, CANCER-CAUSING THINGS, huh?
That should take care of the problem!

Yeah, the Boston cops got time to cruise the strip, bust brothels, hang out in bars, buy drugs, and worry about cellphones while ROBBERIES, RAPES, and MURDERS go UNSOLVED!!!
