"BP is yammering on about how much oil they are pumping up from the destroyed Deepwater Horizon oil well and into a tanker, soon to be headed for your local gas station, and I am certain from BP's point of view, salvaging saleable product is a great improvement over the last going on fifty days of total losses.
But the issue for America and the world is not how much oil is being pumped into BP's tankers but how much is still flowing into the Gulf of Mexico.
As can be seen here, the problem is actually far worse than it was before. When the old riser pipe was still in place, it restricted the amount of oil flowing out of the broken BOP, but once that pipe was cut off for the LMRT, the flow became unrestricted and the LMRT failed to seal off the pipe as had been the plan.
In other words, the LMRT failed and BP failed and now things are much worse. If the reports of a second botched drilling sight leaking oil nearby are true, and/or if BP's statement about a broken safety valve 1000 feet below the floor of the Gulf of Mexico are true, then together with what we see here on this video there is no way to stop this thing. The drillers, as Tolkien would put it, delved too deeply and too greedily and woke the nameless horror that dwells in the dark. A real-life Balrog wreathed in flame and black smoke has awoken, and lays waste the halls of Moria!" -- Wake the Flock Up
And say goodbye to your presidency, Obomber -- notwithstanding a false flag nuclear attack and World War III for the sake of Israel.
Allowing BP to cut corners cost you; I just hope the campaign ca$h wa$ worth it.
"Cap in place, loss of oil slows as caution prevails; Tar balls litter shores along Fla. Panhandle" by Clifford Krauss and Michael Cooper, New York Times | June 6, 2010
HOUSTON — Oil continued to pour from a runaway oil well in the Gulf of Mexico yesterday as engineers worked to close two of four vents on a capping device....
Engineers were hesitant to close the vents out of fear that if they did so too quickly, water would rush in and form the kind of icy hydrates that doomed a previous attempt to cap the leak.
They WON'T BE CLOSING them, readers, because the PRESSURE is TOO GREAT!
Once again, another solution has failed.
But don't you feel better because the lying government and MSM told you everything was getting better?
A technician working on the operation said the engineers were also working slowly and deliberately because of a concern that the volume and velocity of the escaping oil could create so much friction on the inside walls of the new 5,000-foot pipe that it could force it entirely off the cap.
“It’s a complicated deal,’’ said the technician, who spoke on the condition that he remain anonymous because he was not authorized to speak publicly. He said the engineers began working on closing the vents yesterday morning. The speed at which they would close all four vents “depends on how everything reacts,’’ the technician said....
Now, technicians involved in the operation say they are concerned that as they succeed in gathering more and more oil, they may have trouble handling and storing all of it....
The admiral had initially said that engineers hoped to begin closing the vents Friday. But yesterday he said they had not because of fears that the pressure inside the cap would become so great that oil would blast through the imperfect seal.
It looks like it is already!
With the oil staining beaches and killing wildlife across the Gulf, and tar balls beginning to surface on the shores of the Florida Panhandle, President Obama said in his weekly radio address....
Cut for a reason.
If you want to know what he said you can click on the link at the end of the article.
Technicians, employing submarine robots, worked through the night to begin closing the vents. So far the cap has been able to bear the pressure and there is no sign of hydrates forming. That is viewed by experts as a positive sign because hydrates clogged a similar containment device a month ago and prevented it from capturing the oil effectively.
In his speech, Obama said....
Again, who cares what he said?
I get enough lies from the newspaper.
He reeled off a ream of statistics to show the scale of the response. He said....
Doing his best George Bush impersonation.
BP is already preparing to install over the next several weeks a couple of backup systems in the containment effort. The company has more caps on hand with different engineering designs if the device it is trying now fails.
But, but, but, the headline said.... sigh.

"In quest for spill clues, panel meets frustration" by Ian Urbina, New York Times | June 6, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — New government and BP documents, interviews with experts, and testimony by witnesses provide the clearest indication to date that a hodgepodge of oversight agencies granted exceptions to rules, allowed risks to accumulate, and made a disaster more likely on the rig....
Yeah, THAT is why GOVERNMENT GRIPING and ANGER is so ANGERING!!!
BP and the GOVERNMENT are IN this SLICK TOGETHER!
Thus we get a COVER UP!
As a result, deep-water rigs operate under an ad-hoc system of exceptions.
The deeper the water, the further the exceptions stretch, not just from federal guidelines but also often from company policy.

No wonder the whole thing is ad hoc.
When the regulators are high and beating off to computer porn.... sigh.
So, for example, when BP officials first set their sights on extracting the oil under what is known as Mississippi Canyon Block 252 in the Gulf of Mexico, they asked for and received permission from federal regulators to exempt the drilling project from federal law that requires a rigorous type of environmental review, internal documents and federal records indicate....
So THEY are BOTH GUILTY as S***!!
And when company officials wanted to test the blowout preventer, a crucial fail-safe mechanism on the pipe near the ocean floor, at a lower pressure than was federally required, regulators granted an exception, documents released last week show.
Regulators granted yet another exception when BP sought to delay mandatory testing of that blowout preventer....
Are you ANGRY YET, America?
The Minerals Management Service, which regulates offshore drilling, went along with these requests partly because the agency has for years had a dual role of both fostering and policing the industry.
Yes, we are WELL AWARE of the VAST CORRUPTION between AmeriKan industry and government.
Its safety inspections usually consist of helicopter visits to offshore rigs to sift through company reports of self-administered tests....
