Obama Kicks Around North Korea

It's called taking your frustrations by projecting them onto someone who is no threat to you.

What do you expect him to do, take on Israel?

And the Globe kicks you around, readers.

"Obama, Lee criticize North Korea on ship sinking" by Mark S. Smith, Associated Press Writer | June 26, 2010

TORONTO --
President Barack Obama said Saturday that North Korea must be "held to account" for its alleged sinking of a South Korean warship, a tough statement of support for an ally, made at its leader's side.

Sinking the Chances of Korean Peace

Aren't you glad this president sells the same lies as the last one?

After talks with South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak on the sidelines of global summits here, the U.S. president used some of his strongest language yet about the March sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan.

An independent report has found that it was caused by a North Korean torpedo.

An "independent" report that the rest of the world knows is a PoS!

"There have to be consequences for such irresponsible behavior," Obama said....

Unless it is Israel killing an American in international waters.

South Korea has already referred the ship sinking to the U.N. Security Council, which could adopt a resolution condemning the North for the sinking or issue a less stringent presidential statement....

After that it is invisible ink, folks.

Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron had been expected to address the difficulties that the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has introduced into the American-British relationship....

Neither leader mentioned the topic when the two briefly addressed reporters after their hourlong session. And they took no questions, ignoring those shouted at them concerned the oil spill catastrophe.

Obama and Cameron made clear that the troubled war in Afghanistan must see progress this year....

Their meeting had a collegial feel after the president gave his British ally a ride back to Toronto on his specially outfitted presidential helicopter....

This as Britain faces massive budget cuts and tax increases.

"The ax will fall on various social welfare benefits. The cuts include a controversial three-year freeze on child benefits, a cap on housing benefits, and means testing for disability allowances."

Had to find another article to splice together what is in my printed paper.

"World leaders seek common ground on crises" by Tom Raum and Jane Wardell, Associated Press Writers | June 26, 2010

TORONTO --
In a joint statement, the leading eight industrial democracies also criticized both Iran and North Korea for continuing their nuclear march and called on both to heed existing United Nations resolutions....

They truly do work for the Zionists of Israel.

In their final statement, the G-8 countries also called Israel's current restrictions on the flow of goods to Gaza "not sustainable and must be changed."

But no criticism.

****

And the leaders endorsed a five-year exit strategy for foreign troops from Afghanistan....

I was told we were out by next year.

World leaders found themselves divided on how best to keep the world economy growing after the worst recession since the 1930s. They split between calls, mainly from the U.S., for more government stimulus to keep the world from slipping back into recession, and appeals from European countries and Japan for spending cuts and even tax hikes to avoid Greece-like near defaults....

They have no answers, huh?

And that is where my printed page ends.

The statement on the March sinking of the South Korean ship was not as strongly worded as the United States and some other countries had hoped. Russia was cited as a holdout against tougher language....

Now I see why they obfuscating shell games.

That was not part of any printed account I read.

An official in the Russian delegation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the leaders were meeting, said that Russia still did not consider the results of the investigation to be final and because of this, felt that condemning Pyongyang further could lead to negative consequences....

Translation: The RUSSIANS KNOW it was a FALSE FLAG!

While earlier demonstrations had been nonviolent, black-clad protesters broke off from a larger crowd on Saturday, torching police cruisers and smashing windows with baseball bats and hammers. Some demonstrators hurled bottles at police....

There are the GOVERNMENT AGENT PROVOCATEURS to make the GOOD PEOPLE PROTESTING LOOK BAD!

And WHY all the WAR LIES, anyway, WaPo?

"N. Korea expected to discuss succession; Will hold event to elect leaders" by Chico Harlan, Washington Post | June 27, 2010

TOKYO — North Korea could formalize an attempt to transfer power from current leader Kim Jong Il to his third son, Kim Jong Un, analysts said after Pyongyang’s official state media reported yesterday that a rare meeting to determine government leadership will be held in September.

Slow Saturday Special: North Korea's Gnawing Hunger

Oh, turning to a market economy as the old man looks to smoothly transfer power, huh?

Then WHY all the WAR TALK!?

The planned handoff of power, a topic of speculation since Kim Jong Il, 68, suffered an apparent stroke in August 2008, comes as nuclear-armed North Korea is dealing with a crumbling economy, famine, and the international response to its alleged sinking of a South Korean warship.

Outside of North Korea, little is known about Jong Un, believed to be 27 years old. The murky succession process, combined with North Korea’s erratic behavior, has heightened concerns about a possible power struggle....

That is not what you were saying a few weeks ago; in fact, this appears to be anything but that, WaPo!

“It seems that the people in Pyongyang now want to move fast — likely because they know something dangerous about the state of Kim Jong Il’s health,’’ said Andrei Lankov, a North Korean analyst at Kookmin University in Seoul.

Since North Korea’s establishment in 1948, it has had two leaders — Kim Jong Il and his father, Kim Il Sung. Kim Il Sung died of a heart attack in 1994, but his son’s succession — the first successful hereditary transfer of power for a communist nation — had been established publicly 14 years earlier.

North Korea watchers and those with sources inside the country believe that a rushed transfer of power, with little time given to boost Jong Un’s credentials, will further heighten the nation’s instability.

This is ANYTHING BUT!!!

The old man is doing this carefully and deliberately so why the lying, WaPo?

A North Korean collapse would touch off a race to secure its nuclear arsenal, raising the prospect of a showdown between South Korean and US troops moving north and Chinese troops moving south. Add to that a large mass of refugees flooding into China, and there’s a recipe for chaos.

The U.S. EXCUSE to INVADE North Korea?

Earlier this month, North Korea convened the Supreme People’s Assembly, its highest legislative body, and reshuffled its leadership. Jang Song Taek, Kim Jong Il’s brother-in-law, was appointed vice chairman of the National Defense Commission, the de facto number two leadership role.

Does that sound RUSHED to you?

Because Jang reportedly favors the hereditary succession plan, analysts viewed the move as part of a larger strategy to pave the way for a smooth power transfer.

Weren't we told they were rushing it above?

"Obama seeks cooperation from China, Europe at G-20 summit" by Sewell Chan, New York Times | June 19, 2010

WASHINGTON — President Obama will face significant challenges at a summit meeting in Toronto next week, where he will be trying to secure cooperation from European and Chinese leaders in nurturing the still-fragile recovery of the global economy.

European countries are pulling back on spending with a speed that the Obama administration believes could derail the global recovery. China signaled this week that it would not let its currency rise in value anytime soon, raising the prospect of a showdown with Congress. Germany and France have turned skittish about an American-led push to raise capital and liquidity requirements for large banks.

Meanwhile, the United States and Britain favor a tax on the giant banks but do not support a proposal by the European Union to tax financial transactions. Canada, Japan, and Australia opposed any form of bank tax.

The disagreements threaten to hurt the effectiveness of the Group of 20, the expanded club of nations that Obama and his predecessor, George W. Bush, have used to coordinate the reply to the financial crisis....

Even using the same tools the s***ter left him. Some change.

Yesterday, two Chinese officials, Cui Tiankai of the Foreign Ministry and Zhang Tao of the People’s Bank of China, told reporters in Beijing that China would move at its own pace.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a government that actually

The divisions within the G-20 reflect in part the diverging economic paths of its members. Emerging market economies like China’s are leading the global recovery. The move by consumers to save more and spend less has led to slower growth in the United States. The economic outlook is weakest in Europe.

And they have no answers.
