HONOLULU — The Honolulu Star-Bulletin and The Honolulu Advertiser have competed for more than a century. That rivalry ended yesterday when the Advertiser, Hawaii’s largest newspaper, published its last edition. It is being bought and combined with its rival. More than 400 workers are losing their jobs.
