Ladies Night in California

Feeling's right, oh what a night.....

"Primaries tomorrow to test depths of discontent

WASHINGTON — In California, Carly Fiorina, onetime Hewlett-Packard chief executive, appears to have pulled away from former representative Tom Campbell in the final weeks of the race for the Republican Senate nomination, relying on personal wealth to fund ads and on an endorsement from Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor.

She destroyed HP and now she may be senator?

The winner will face Senator Barbara Boxer, a Democrat, in the general election....

In the race for governor of California, former eBay chief executive Meg Whitman’s first foray into electoral politics has been a roller-coaster ride.

She ruined eBay and may now be governor?

Whitman began her run for the Republican nomination as an unknown but changed that by spending tens of millions of dollars on her campaign. Then came a series of attack ads from state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner that painted Whitman as liberal on immigration. Whitman’s numbers plummeted but have begun to recover, and most analysts expect her to win.

And HERE SHE IS....

"Primaries show off the power of the broom; Upstarts shoo or threaten veterans" by Susan Milligan, Globe Staff | June 9, 2010

WASHINGTON — In California, Republicans nominated female business executives to vie for both governor and the Senate.

"Boxer has never looked more vulnerable. Seeking her fourth term in the Senate, her poll numbers are lackluster. But Boxer is a combative and resilient campaigner in a state that has regularly frustrated Republicans in statewide races....

Except for Aaahnold, of course.

Is that why Boxer is now vulnerable?

And it wasn't for everyone:

Early signs of gloom for Orly Taitz in California

"Clearly the anti-incumbent fever is grabbing the nation. The Tea Party continues to be a force operating outside the traditional establishment, but the really important contest not even mentioned in this article at all is Orly Taitz, who ran for California Secretary of State. Despite her "birther" credentials, Orly was backed by the Republican Jewish Coalition and only 24 hours ago, was being touted in the corporate media as a likely victor, She lost.

She not only lost but she was crushed. IN an election dominated by women, Orly despite her Jewish support, lost to a football player who barely campaigned at all. The message here is that our "America needs leaders who put American first, second, and third" message is getting out there. Orly's webwite promotes the required pro-Israel agenda, and Orly was doing the mandatory visit to Israel even while still exploiting the birther nonsense to get her name in the media.

But it did not work. This friend of Israel was clearly sent a message she is no friend of America.

Good on the Californians! Good for America. Let us keep it up!"-- Wake the Flock Up

Strange; none of that appeared in my Boston Globe.
