"2 accused of posing as police for scam
Two men were arrested yesterday, accused of posing as police officers and soliciting donations for a Boston police union. Police spokesman David Estrada said Joseph Rouche, 53, of Wakefield and Stephen Sousa, 41, of Everett are to be arraigned today on charges of larceny by false pretense in Dorchester District Court. The department said last night the men appear to have fleeced numerous businesses. Officers stopped Rouche driving at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday in Dorchester and recovered a notebook with Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association letterhead and a list of businesses that had donated in the past, police said. One business owner reportedly told officers that he had donated to one of the men for about six years.
