Seeping S*** From the MSM

In the form of black and brown goo....

"THE GULF WELL IS STILL LEAKING

The announcement that the Deepwater Horizon Well Head has been capped is being blared all across ABCNNBBCBS with headlines "oil no longer gushing into gulf." Among the more naive, it may be understood if they have the impression the problem is over (except for the cleanup) because that is the impression being sold to the public.

But is it reality, or is it politics? There is no question that the Gulf Oil disaster is not going to help Democrats retain their hold on Congress come November. Senator David Vitter points out, correctly, that President Obama has a vested political interest in convincing the public that the problem is over, so that it will fade from public memory in the three months from now until the elections.

Yes, British Petroleum and Transocean screwed up, but it was Obama's administration which failed to get the problematic US Minerals Management Service to properly exercise their job of oversight and safety inspections on the Gulf drilling rigs. MMS had been scandalized going back to 2008 for doing favors for and accepting gifts (including sexual favors) from the oil companies they were supposed to be keeping an eye on. In some cases, MMS let the oil companies fill out their own safety reports! The US Government knew what was going on and even issued a report on the problems with MMS.

Obama had over 400 days in office to do his job os getting the government to do their job, but failed in his primary task of taking care of this country, apparently too distracted with his love of Israel to pay attention to what was going on closer to home.

Obama makes a good show of rushing down to the gulf to "kick ass" and act like he is taking care of the situation, but in truth his job was to prevent such disasters from happening, not pose like a firefighter standing heroically over the wreckage after-the-fact.

Obama needs the Gulf Oil disaster to go away because it will be an election loser for the Democrats if the public is still thinking about it in November. Obama himself may be untouchable in this election because he is not running, but the public thirst for vengeance will find easy targets in Democratic candidates.

The announcement of the attempt to cap the well this last week was greeted with stunned amazement among experts (not on BP's payroll). After all, BP had admitted back in May that the drill pipe and well casing had at least one leak 1000 feet below the blowout preventer; the reason the Top Kill procedure had failed.

CNN reported on two other potential leaks at 9,000 feet and 17,000 feet....

Back in June, video from the Remotely Operated Vehicles on the ocean floor spotted oil leaking up from fissures in the sea floor near the well....

That the drill pipe itself was destroyed in the initial methane "kick" that ignited the platform fire was underscored by the fact that two sections of the drill pipe had been jammed up inside the blowout preventer.

Common sense (and engineering) will tell you that if you have a pipe with leaks, putting a cap on one leak simply drives the oil out the other leaks. From an environmental perspective this makes no sense, because the oil is still leaking out of the well, just in a different place. Of greater concern is that the oil can flow out into the surrounding rocks the way the mud did during the failed Top Kill procedure, forming what is called a subsurface blowout. This is a huge bubble of oil inside the rock. The danger is if the bubble ruptures and the oil collected over 80 days of leakage rushed to the surface of the gulf all at once. Such a surge of oil could easily engulf and founder the surface ships.

Capping a well with known leaks below the surface really serves only one purpose, and that is to present to the media video images showing the well is capped, so that they can reassure the public the problem is over and please vote Democratic-or-you-are-just-being-a-racist.

But the hard reality being withheld from the public is that the problem is not fixed. The leak has not been stopped, it has just been moved out of sight. The camera feed of the capped well head will be shown constantly to assure Americans that all is well and lull us back to a useful torpor. No other views from around the well will be allowed.

Except that the cat is already out of the bag!

The following videos were captured from the live video feed of one of the BP ROVs. Recorded after the well cap test had begun, a test even the BP experts admit failed to generate the pressures that would signal "success" these videos clearly show what looks like oil seeping up through the ocean floor near the well head....

As you can see, while the well itself may be capped, and looks good for Obama's political purposes, the reality is that the oil leak is not fixed, only shifted away from the well head cameras and the light of the media, where it is hoped Americans will not notice it.

I have to tell you, readers, I don't read or watch the American media on this issue anymore.

I have been going HERE to find out what the MSM won't tell you and because he seems to pare out some of the more sensationalist set of stories swirling around this issue. Or you can see what I have posted in the file I created for the crisis.

What you find is that the BLOGS are LEADING the MSM on this issue as THEY are RESPONDING to us after WEEKS have passed. It's discouraging and sad; however, it is just one more item and issue over which they are not to be believed.

"BP, government clash over next step in spill fix; Oil firm opposes US plan to ease pressure in well" by Colleen Long, Associated Press | July 19, 2010

NEW ORLEANS — An administration official familiar with the spill oversight, however, said a seep and possible methane were found near the busted oil well. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because an announcement about the next steps had not been made yet.

The concern all along — since pressure readings on the cap were not as high as expected — was that there is a leak elsewhere in the well bore. If that is the case, the cap may have to be reopened to prevent the environmental disaster from becoming even worse and harder to fix.

The official, who would not clarify what is seeping near the well, also said BP is not complying with the government’s demand for more monitoring.

BP spokesman Mark Salt declined to comment on the allegation, but said “we continue to work very closely with all government scientists on this.’’

Retired Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, the Obama administration’s spill response chief, insisted yesterday that “nothing has changed’’ since Saturday, when he said oil would eventually be piped to surface ships. The government is overseeing BP’s work to stop the leak, which ultimately is to be plugged using a relief well.

Allen decided to extend testing of the cap that had been scheduled to end yesterday. That means the oil will stay in the well for now as scientists continue to monitor pressure readings. It was not clear how long that would take.

Officials at the Department of Homeland Security referred questions to a statement issued by Allen; neither he nor BP officials could explain the apparent contradiction in plans.

Doug Suttles', BP’s chief operating officer, comments carved out an important piece of turf for BP: If Allen sticks with the containment plan and oil again pours into the gulf, even briefly, it will be the government’s doing, not BP’s.

Look at them playing the BLAME GAME as if we cared.

We find you BOTH CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT, a**holes!!!!

The company very much wants to avoid a repeat of the live underwater video that showed millions of gallons of oil spewing from the blown well for weeks.

So WHAT ARE YOU SEEING on your TV SCREEN and IS IT REAL, America?

“I can see why they’re pushing for keeping the cap on and shut in until the relief well is in place,’’ said Daniel Keeney, president of a Dallas-based public relations firm.

The government wants to eliminate any chance of making matters worse, while BP is loath to lose the momentum it gained the moment it finally halted the leak, Keeney said.

“They want to project being on the same team, but they have different end results that benefit each,’’ he said.

With the AmeriKan MSM to spread the word.

Oil would have to be released under Allen’s plan, which would ease concerns that the capped reservoir might force its way out through another route. Those concerns stem from pressure readings in the cap that have been lower than expected.

Look at the MSM DANCE ALL AROUND the COMPROMISED WELL and SEA FLOOR!!!!

Scientists still aren’t sure whether the pressure readings mean a leak elsewhere in the well bore, possibly deep down in bedrock, which could make the seabed unstable.

Honestly, I could do without the DISTORTED OBFUSCATION of what is happening three-quarters of the way through this PoS!

Oil would have to be released into the water to relieve pressure and allow crews to hook up the ships, BP and Allen have said.

There have been no signs of a new leak, Suttles said yesterday morning. Allen said later in the day that scientists and engineers would continue to evaluate and monitor the cap through acoustic, sonar, and seismic readings.

They’re trying to determine whether low pressure readings mean that more oil than expected poured into the Gulf of Mexico since the BP-leased Deepwater Horizon rig exploded April 20, killing 11 people and touching off one of America’s worst environment crises....

Yeah, government, industry, and MSM have been lying about that, too!

To plug the busted well, BP is drilling two relief wells, one of them a backup. The subsequent job of jamming the broken well with mud and cement could take days or a few weeks.

Yup, BP to the rescue!

"BP considers procedure to seal well for good; Plan arises as analysts quell worry on seep" by Henry Fountain, New York Times | July 20, 2010

NEW YORK — As scientists yesterday allayed worries that BP’s well in the Gulf of Mexico is damaged, the company said it is considering an alternative plan that could permanently seal the gusher sooner than had been anticipated.

Kent Wells, a senior vice president for BP, said the company is studying the possibility of a “static kill,’’ in which heavy mud would be pumped into the recently capped well. Also known as bullheading, the procedure would force the oil and gas back down into the reservoir....

Didn't they ALREADY TRY THIS? They called it a top kill then and it failed!

Yesterday morning BP and the government said scientists had determined that methane gas seeping from the sea floor nearly 2 miles from the well is a natural occurrence and not related to a pressure test to assess the well’s condition....

Un-flipping-real!

They truly think you believe anything, Amurkns!

Meanwhile, a former worker on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig testified yesterday that he had used an abnormal way of testing a critical emergency device that failed on the day of the explosion.

The worker, Leo T. Lindner, a drilling fluid specialist for M.I. Swaco, testified at a government hearing in the New Orleans suburb of Kenner that BP had given him permission to use an unusually large amount of a fluid called a “spacer’’ when conducting tests of the blowout preventer, a last-ditch safety mechanism that failed during the disaster.

That decision ran counter to normal industry protocol, Lindner said, “and was made because BP could not easily dispose of the excess fluid any other way’’ without violating environmental laws.

“I remember seeing one e-mail from a BP mud specialist saying it would be OK,’’ he said, adding that the company’s environmental department had also approved the switch....

"Spill chief says the capped well is holding up" by Colleen Long and Frederic J. Frommer, Associated Press Writers | July 20, 2010

NEW ORLEANS --
The government's oil spill chief tried to tamp down fears Tuesday that BP's capped well is buckling under the pressure, saying that seepage detected along the sea floor less than two miles away is coming from an older well no longer in production.

Really?

How would they know?

Yeah, if the first lie doesn't work tell a bigger one!!!

Retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen also said at least five leaks have been discovered around the well machinery, but he dismissed them as "very small drips" -- "not unlike an oil leak you might have in your car."

Yeah, it is STILL LEAKING but NOT MUCH!!!

Un-flipping-real!

***********

Meanwhile, the end game in the three-month crisis appeared to be drawing closer....

Yup, the CRISIS is OVER -- or so says the lying, agenda-pushing AmeriKan MSM!!!

The seepage detected from the sea floor briefly raised fears that the well was in danger. But Allen said another well is to blame. The seepage is closer to the older well than to the one that blew out, Allen said. Also, he said, "it's not unusual to have seepage around the old wells."

Amazing how these leaks showed up after three months, huh?

There are two wells within two miles of BP's blowout off the Louisiana coast in the Gulf of Mexico. One has been abandoned and another is not in production. Around 27,000 abandoned wells in the Gulf aren't checked for leaks, an Associated Press investigation showed this month.

The BP-leased Deepwater Horizon rig exploded April 20, killing 11 workers and touching off one of America's worst environmental crises. The well has spewed somewhere between 94 million and 184 million gallons into the Gulf.

I heard it was a hell of a lot more, MSM.

Is there anything you guys will not lie about?

BP said the cost of dealing with the spill has now reached nearly $4 billion....

Who cares what it cost BP?

At a hearing in suburban New Orleans, one of the ill-fated rig's drilling supervisors told Coast Guard investigators that the rig's crew didn't stop drilling or properly notify regulators when a hydraulic leak was discovered in a critical safety device weeks before the blast....

Why save that for last, MSM?

"Brewing storm stops work on gulf relief well; May send ships ashore, require removal of cap" by Colleen Long and Michael Kunzelman, Associated Press | July 22, 2010

NEW ORLEANS — A storm brewing in the Caribbean brought the deep-sea effort to plug the ruptured oil well to a near standstill yesterday just as BP was getting tantalizingly close to going in for the kill.

It is ALWAYS SOMETHING, notice that!?

Work on the relief well — now just days from completion — was suspended, and the cap that has been keeping the oil bottled up since last week may have to be reopened, allowing crude to gush into the sea again for days, said retired Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, the government’s point man on the crisis....

The cluster of thunderstorms passed over Haiti and the Dominican Republic yesterday, and forecasters said the system would probably move into the gulf over the weekend....

Oh, so it RAINED on Haiti's tent cities and the Boston Globe decided to ignore it, huh?

Scientists have been scrutinizing underwater video and pressure data for days, trying to determine if the capped well is holding tight or in danger of rupturing and causing an even bigger disaster. If the storm prevents BP from monitoring the well, the cap may simply be reopened, allowing oil to spill into the water, Allen said.

BP and government scientists met to discuss whether the cap could be monitored from shore.

As the storm drew closer, boat captains hired by BP for skimming duty were sent home and told they would not be going back out for five or six days, said Tom Ard, president of the Orange Beach Fishing Association in Alabama....

Even if the storm does not hit the area directly, it could affect the effort to contain the oil and clean it up. Hurricane Alex stayed 500 miles away last month, yet skimming in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida was curtailed for nearly a week....

The Times of London quoted unidentified BP sources as saying the company’s beleaguered chief executive, Tony Hayward, planned to step down by September after a series of public relations blunders, including yacht racing during the spill and saying he wanted his life back. But BP said Hayward still had the full support of its board....
