Boston Globe Under the Boardwalk

You know, down by the sea.

"Obama is no longer a target at shore" by Associated Press | August 13, 2010

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. — Operators of a boardwalk game in the town where the MTV reality show “Jersey Shore’’ is filmed have removed a caricature of President Obama and replaced it with the likenesses of President George W. Bush and Hillary Clinton.

Huh.

The American voter thought he/she did the exact opposite in 2008.

Manager Tom Whalen said the change was meant to show that the “Walkin Charlie’’ game, which requires patrons to throw baseballs at plates held by the rotating caricatures, is not “anti-Democrat’’ or “anti-Republican.’’

A plastic bag was placed over the Obama character’s head after some people earlier this week said it was disrespectful to use the president’s likeness.

I just want one placed over his presidency.

Whalen said a Secret Service agent visited the stand Wednesday and told him that no employee had urged patrons to throw at the Obama likeness. He said it might return in a few weeks.
