KABUL, Afghanistan — More than 200 Afghans marched through Kabul yesterday to protest the alleged deaths of 52 civilians in a NATO rocket attack in the south.

NATO has repeatedly disputed the allegations of civilian deaths, and NATO spokesman Brigadier General Josef Blotz said yesterday that a joint assessment team has only confirmed that one to three civilians may have died in the July 23 attack in the Sangin district of Helmand province.
Protesters carried photos of children allegedly killed or wounded in the missile strike and shouted “Death to America! Death to NATO!’’
“We should not tolerate such attacks. The Americans are invaders who have occupied our country in the name of fighting terrorism,’’ said 22-year-old Ahmad Jawed, a university student.
Afghans are so intelligent, and they should not have to tolerate such barbarism.
I'll bet Afghans are tired of hearing that broken record.

And the results of the investigation?

KABUL, Afghanistan — Also yesterday, a presidential delegation sent to investigate civilian casualties in southern Afghanistan reported that 39 civilians were killed and four others were injured in fighting last month in Sangin district of Helmand Province.
MOSTLY WOMEN and CHILDREN who had TAKEN SHELTER!
According to a statement issued by President Hamid Karzai’s office, the delegation stayed in Sangin for six days, interviewing local officials and relatives of the victims.
Earlier, the Afghan government said 52 civilians died when a NATO rocket struck the village of Rigi, one of the most violent areas of the country.
That report was disputed by the international coalition.
It's a knee-jerk response, folks.
NATO said investigators determined that alliance and Afghan troops came under attack about 6 miles south of the village and responded with helicopter-borne strikes. Coalition forces reported six insurgents killed, including a Taliban commander.
I always take a grain of salt with my MSM and military lies.
At least 2,412 Afghan civilians were killed in fighting last year — up 14 percent from 2008, according to the United Nations.
And whoever they were they were innocent of the ostensible reason we are there.
