The Tour De London

Is Lance in it?

"London offers bicycle rental system" by Bloomberg News | July 31, 2010

LONDON — Mayor Boris Johnson is spending $218 million to encourage more Londoners to get on two wheels with a cycle-hire program that sprinkles the capital with as many as 5,000 bikes.

The initiative, funded by Transport for London, sponsored by Barclays, and operated by Serco, could lose almost $8 million a year, according to Kulveer Ranger, Johnson’s transportation adviser.

That's where your bailout loot is going, 'eh, Britons?

At best, it will break even....

That's a gamble worth taking, huh?

Fork over another $8 billion in bailout loot.

That must be first prize.

“I think we’ve got to be realistic,’’ said Johnson, who pedals to his Tower Bridge office. “It’ll be a while before it makes money for the taxpayer. The objective is to give Londoners a clean, green alternative, particularly for short journeys where they might think of using cars, which I think is crazy.’’

Don't they have tubes?

I know I wouldn't want to take one after the 7/7 false flag, nor would I want to take a double-decker bust the terrorists bombed that day, but I don't live there.

As for the car, we country folk need them out here.

You city slickers can come do my pedaling if you feel otherwise.
