America's Conceited Kids

You know, I can't imagine where they got the ideas from, can you?

"Study finds students confident; More freshmen in college say they are ‘above average’" by Martha Irvine, Associated Press / June 17, 2011

Jean Twenge, author of the book “Generation Me,’’ is in the middle of the discussion.

I love book promotions posing as news, don't you?

The San Diego State University psychology professor has made a career out of finding data that she says show that college students and others their age are more self-centered — narcissistic, even — than past generations. Now she’s turned up data showing that they also feel more superior about themselves than their elders did....

I've already heard and done the bashing the kids bit.

She say anything about MONEY-ADDICTED BANKERS and WAR PROFITEERS?

As she sees it, there’s a growing disconnect between self-perception and reality....

I get the same feeling when I sit down to read a newspaper after having perused a few blogs.

And that, she says, can pose problems, in relationships and the workplace....

Or for a business model.

I stopped the piece there, readers, because honestly, I'm sick of agenda-pushing insults masking themselves as news.  My only complaint with the kids is they are not in the streets ending the wars.
