TRIPOLI, Libya — Libyan authorities accused NATO yesterday of killing 15 people in an airstrike that hit a restaurant and bakery in the east, though the alliance said there were no indications that civilians had died.

I no longer believe NATO.
It was the latest outcry from Libyan leader Moammar Khadafy’s government blaming NATO for killing civilians amid a four-month uprising that has sparked a civil war. NATO insists it does all it can to avoid such casualties.
Of course, they just admitting to murdering some but don't let that get in the way of the media implication and obfuscation.
Meanwhile, rebel representatives said their fighters were coordinating around the country for the “zero hour’’ when their forces would reach the capital of Tripoli.
The rebels said they have been working to cut fuel supplies from Tunisian borders in an attempt to paralyze Khadafy’s forces. Rebels also are making homemade bombs and trying to ferry other weapons to their comrades in Tripoli, a spokesman for an underground guerrilla group there said.
Libya’s state news agency quoted a military official in Khadafy’s forces as saying that NATO warplanes hit a number of civilian sites yesterday in the oil town of Brega, including a restaurant and a bakery.
The official said 15 civilians were killed and 20 wounded in the strike. The JANA news agency also claimed five civilians were killed Friday in Brega as well.
A NATO official said alliance warplanes had hit several targets in the vicinity of Brega, but dismissed claims that the attacks had resulted in civilian casualties.
“We have no indications of any civilian casualties in connection with these strikes,’’ said the official, who spoke on condition on anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media on the record. “What we know is that the buildings we hit were occupied and used by pro-Khadafy forces to direct attacks against civilians around Ajdabiya.’’

NATO has acknowledged carrying out two raids near the strategic oil town. The alliance said Friday it hit multiple military command sites near Brega, which has been a frequent flashpoint between rebels and Khadafy’s forces.
The alliance said Friday that government forces had moved into buildings in an abandoned area of Brega and started using them as military compounds to launch strikes on civilians, putting rebel-held cities such as Ajdabiya and Benghazi at risk.

BENGHAZI, Libya—Dozens of detained rebels returned Friday on a Red Cross ship to their eastern stronghold, detailing how they were tortured at the hands of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's forces.
The ship carrying 51 prisoners also brought back 249 people who wanted to be reunited with family in eastern Libya, Red Cross spokeswoman Deepa Fakhir said. It was not immediately clear whether there had been a prisoner swap with the Gadhafi government.
"They electrocuted us, they tortured us in every possible way," said Yousef al-Fetori, who had been detained in the capital of Tripoli....
I wonder if they learned those tactics from Amerika.
At least two explosions were felt in Tripoli on Friday night, indicating new airstrikes, though there was no word on what might have been targeted. Earlier in the day, a couple hundred government supporters gathered and fired automatic rifles into the air in the capital's central Green Square.

"This continues to show Qadhafi's reprehensible tactics of placing military assets and operations at the heart of civilian neighborhoods," said Lt. Gen. Charles Bouchard, commander of NATO's Libya operation. "We have meticulously monitored these developments for a significant period and it was time to remove this threat."
The rebels have taken over much of the eastern half of Libya. They also control pockets in the west, including the vital port city of Misrata....

Meanwhile, judges at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, have said they will rule Monday on whether to order Gadhafi's arrest. A warrant would turn Gadhafi into an internationally wanted war crimes suspect at risk of detention if he traveled to ICC member states. However, the ICC has no police force and relies on participating countries to arrest suspects.
Because they never went after Bush, Bliar, or the cadre of Israeli war criminals the U.N. has no credibility on this issue.
All they do is go after poor black tinpots in Africa that carried out corporate will or poor white Slavs that don't toe the NWO line.

TRIPOLI, Libya — Rebels in Libya’s western mountains said they have advanced and are battling Moammar Khadafy’s forces in a strategic town southwest of the capital, stepping up pressure against government troops on a second front.

The rebels’ assertion of an advance into the outskirts of the town of Bair al-Ghanam, some 50 miles from Tripoli, follows weeks of intense fighting in the Nafusa mountains in which opposition forces have slowly pushed Khadafy troops back toward Tripoli.
Libya’s rebels control the eastern third of the country and pockets in the west, including a number of Nafusa mountain towns.

The bulk of the fighting in recent months has been focused on front lines to the east of Tripoli. But a push by rebels from the Nafusa mountains could force Khadafy to commit more troops to the southern and western approaches to the capital....

In Tripoli, Khadafy’s government remained defiant. Government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said Khadafy is in “high spirits’’ and remains in day-to-day control of the country. He insisted Khadafy will remain in Libya, but wouldn’t confirm that the leader is still in the capital.
“Khadafy is here, he is staying. He is leading the country. He will not leave. He will not step down,’’ Ibrahim told reporters in Tripoli, challenging the rebels and the NATO-led coalition giving them air support. “If they want to continue the fight, we are ready.’’
Moussa said the government has distributed 1.2 million weapons to supporters in the west of the country to defend themselves.
