Pakistani Murder Plots

Worthy of a front-page, above-the-fold feature:

"‘Someday u will find me dead’; Police say an East Boston man admits to orchestrating the murder of his wife, who warned of abuse in text messages" August 20, 2011|By Milton J. Valencia and Vivian Yee, Globe Staff and Globe Correspondent

The three men emerged from the darkness on a New Jersey side street Tuesday night, he said, screaming “terrorists’’ at the young couple out for a stroll with their toddler. They killed his young wife with a bullet in the heart and shot him, too, once in the shoulder and once in the ankle.

But yesterday Kashif Parvaiz admitted to police that his story was a lie.

Police investigating the execution-style killing of Nazish Noorani, 27, in the small town of Boonton, N.J., 30 miles from Manhattan, said yesterday that he was carrying out a plot to kill his wife, with the help of a Billerica woman, in a crime eerily reminiscent of the infamous Charles Stuart murder case that rocked Boston more than two decades ago.

Parvaiz, who had been living in East Boston, was charged yesterday with the murder of his wife in a conspiracy with Antionette Stephen, 26, of Billerica.

“Within hours of this crime, it was obvious to investigators that this was sadly the alleged handiwork of the victim’s husband who allegedly did the unthinkable and plotted to murder his wife, after a religious celebration,’’ said Robert A. Bianchi, the prosecutor from Morris County, in a statement.

“That this matter was so well thought out, planned, plotted, and orchestrated is chilling to say the least,’’ he said.

The case has similarities to the case of Stuart, who shot his pregnant wife, Carol, to death after they left childbirth classes at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in October 1989 and shot himself as part of his cover story.

He blamed the shootings on a black gunman, setting off police searches in Boston’s black neighborhoods.

Stuart’s story fell apart, and as authorities began to close in on him, he jumped off the Tobin Bridge three months later, killing himself.

Parvaiz initially told authorities who found him lying on the street that he had been shot by a black man, a white man, and a third unknown man, who shouted slurs about terrorists.

Noorani is from Pakistan; Parvaiz’s origin was not clear yesterday.

But he later changed his story, describing his attackers as three black men, according to authorities in New Jersey.

He also told authorities he had scheduled a flight back to Boston that evening, though family members said he planned to drive.

Police said that once Parvaiz’s story unraveled, he confessed to Captain Jeffrey Paul of the Morris County, N.J., prosecutor’s office.

The charges affirmed the worst fears of Noorani’s family, about a husband they said beat his wife and engaged in extramarital affairs....

"Kin says he knew about N.Y. terror plot" July 19, 2011|Associated Press

NEW YORK - A cousin of admitted terrorist Najibullah Zazi publicly conceded for the first time yesterday that he was in on Zazi’s chilling 2009 plot to attack the New York City subway system with suicide bombers.

Testifying at the federal obstruction-of-justice trial of Zazi’s father, the cousin told jurors that he introduced Zazi to a cleric in Pakistan who arranged for Zazi and two friends from Queens to get training at an Al Qaeda outpost....

Najibullah Zazi has pleaded guilty, admitting that he returned to his family’s home in Colorado to cook up homemade bombs. He then drove to New York City in September 2009 with plans to attack the subway system in a “martyrdom operation’’ that was foiled by the FBI.

Amanullah Zazi pleaded guilty in secret and agreed to become a government witness in federal court in Brooklyn against Najibullah Zazi’s father, who was charged in an alleged coverup.

Was this after the torture or the threats?

The father, Mohammed Wali Zazi, “tried to cover Najibullah Zazi’s tracks by concealing facts and destroying evidence,’’ Assistant US Attorney Andrew Goldsmith said yesterday in opening statements.

Good thing governments never do that.

While we are covering tracks see: The Zionist MSM's Zigs and Zags in the Zazi Case

See if you can keep track of all the omissions.

The elder Zazi has denied knowing anything about a plot that left New Yorkers shaken but unharmed.

As one of the first witnesses, the 24-year-old cousin described how the FBI swooped down on the entire family after the plot unraveled....

Well, they were watching him for months.

"Father of NYC subway bomb plotter found guilty; Convicted of destroying evidence, lying" July 23, 2011|By Tom Hays, Associated Press

NEW YORK - The father of an admitted terrorist was convicted yesterday of charges that he destroyed evidence and lied to investigators to cover up his son’s Al Qaeda-sanctioned plot to attack the New York City subways in 2009 as one of a trio of suicide bombers.

A Brooklyn jury found the father of Najibullah Zazi guilty of conspiracy and obstruction of justice at a trial detailing the disintegration of a working-class family of Afghan-Americans amid chilling allegations of home-grown terror....

Leaving court, the 55-year-old former cab driver from Colorado told reporters he was innocent. “There are so many things that didn’t come out in court,’’ Zazi, who remains free on bail, said without elaborating.

One of his attorneys, Deborah Colson, said the verdict was a disappointment and would be appealed. “We will keep fighting for Mr. Zazi, and we will not give up,’’ she said.

Kangaroo court verdicts usually are.

US Attorney Loretta Lynch said, “This defendant sought to conceal one of the most violent terror plots in recent times… . His actions, had they not been thwarted, would have left Americans at grave risk.’’

The case featured the testimony of two other family members who pleaded guilty and agreed to testify for the government to stave off stiff prison terms....

Which calls into question their credibility.

At trial, a cousin of Najibullah Zazi told jurors that while living in Pakistan, he had introduced Zazi to a cleric there who arranged for Zazi and two childhood friends from Queens to get explosives and other instruction at an Al Qaeda outpost.

So which CIA-Duh officer handled the case, huh?

Zazi admitted in a guilty plea last year that he returned from Pakistan to his family’s Denver-area home to practice making homemade bombs using chemicals extracted from beauty supplies. He then drove to New York City in September 2009 with plans to attack the subway system in a “martyrdom operation,’’ before he learned he was being watched by FBI and fled back to Colorado.

They let him get on an airplane?!?!

The defendant’s nephew and brother-in-law both testified how the FBI and immigration agents put the squeeze on the Zazi family as soon as the plot unraveled.

That means they THREATENED to DEPORT and TORTURE HIS FAMILY unless he pleaded guilty!

What would YOU DO, reader?

When it became clear Najibullah Zazi was a suspect and family members were getting grand jury subpoenas, the cousin said “Uncle Wali’’ recruited him to get rid of plastic containers of peroxide and other evidence. The family agreed to code-name the chemicals “medicine’’ in case the FBI was eavesdropping, he said.

One small point

"a critical missing piece of the high-profile terrorism case: why authorities could not find actual explosives.... investigators did not find explosive material when they searched his car and raided several apartments Zazi visited"

He also said his uncle admonished the family, “If anybody asks questions, tell them we don’t know nothing.’’

The brother-in-law recalled coming across Zazi’s stockpile of bomb-making materials in his garage two months before Zazi set the plot in motion and confronting him by asking, “What the hell is this?’’ But he also said that he wasn’t suspicious enough to report it.

The elder Zazi’s lawyers argued that recorded phone calls showed the brother-in-law had a vendetta against their client because he believed the terror case had ruined his life. On one, he was overheard saying, “To hell with Najibullah Zazi.’’

While in New York we might as well visit Times Square:

"Bomber’s money handler pleads guilty" August 19, 2011|Bloomberg News

NEW YORK - Mohammad Younis, the New York man who provided $7,000 to the Times Square bomber, pleaded guilty yesterday to operating an illegal money-transfer business.

Not for terrorism?

Younis, 45, of Centereach, N.Y., faces a prison term of as long as six months under a plea agreement, US District Judge John Keenan said.

Younis was indicted in September for arranging to provide the bomber, Faisal Shahzad, thousands of dollars in cash through an unlicensed money-transfer business at the direction of an unidentified coconspirator in Pakistan....

That must be the CIA HANDLER!!

Shahzad pleaded guilty in June 2010 to planting homemade bombs in his Nissan Pathfinder and abandoning it in Times Square in the previous month. The bombs were discovered before they could go off.

They never would have.

That's the best "terrorist" they can send at us, huh?

Shahzad was sentenced to life in prison.

In his plea, Shahzad admitted receiving and using money provided by the Pakistani Taliban to make the bomb in his apartment in Bridgeport, Conn.

The cash payment in April was arranged in Pakistan by associates of the Pakistan-based militant group known as Tehrik-e-Taliban, prosecutors said.
