"In N.H. poll, Cain pushes past Paul, Perry
Mitt Romney continues to hold a wide lead over his Republican presidential rivals in New Hampshire, but Herman Cain has surged into second place, further signs of life for the Georgia businessman’s unconventional campaign, according to a poll sponsored by WMUR, the Manchester television station.
Romney, who has led in New Hampshire presidential polls since 2009, has the support of 37 percent of likely GOP voters. But Cain, a pizza baron who earned an upset victory at the Florida straw poll last month, may now be Romney’s strongest challenger in the Granite State.
He has the support of 12 percent of likely Republican voters, pushing him past Ron Paul, the Texas congressman who has been in second place in previous polls.
That is what all the front-runner facade is about: blocking the true front-runner and real voter's choice.
Paul is now at 9 percent, followed by former Utah governor Jon Huntsman at 8 percent, and Texas Governor Rick Perry and former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who are at 4 percent each. Representative Michele Bachmann and former senator Rick Santorum, who have staked their campaigns on strong showings in Iowa, are at 2 percent each.

The telephone poll of 345 likely Republican voters was conducted from Sept. 26 through Oct. 6 by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.3 percentage points.

A total hack job of what's in my printed paper, and I think I know why:
"Aides to Ron Paul, the Texas congressman with a strong following in New Hampshire, had no qualms about December.
"Dr. Paul has a rock-solid base of support and has built the strongest organization in New Hampshire, so the precise date does not matter to our campaign," said his campaign chairman, Jesse Benton. "All we care about is that New Hampshire remains the first primary in the nation."
Yeah, the Globe wouldn't want the public knowing that -- which is why you and I are here, readers.
But they front page this:
"Optimism, candor boost Cain in polls" October 10, 2011|By Tracy Jan, Globe Staff
WASHINGTON - Cain’s recent rise occurred swiftly, thanks in no small part to gaffes made by two former Tea Party favorites: Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and Governor Rick Perry of Texas.
And what I believe are made-up poll results.
At the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames in August, which Bachmann won, Cain barely registered. True, the former glee club member drew hundreds to his overflowing tent in Ames and mesmerized the standing-room-only crowd by belting out gospel songs while supporters feasted on Godfather’s Pizza. But he finished fifth....
Cain has drawn criticism recently for opting to embark on a national book tour instead of investing his energy in retail politics in early-voting states like New Hampshire and Iowa - a strategic mistake, some say, and an indication that he is not campaigning seriously....
A black Sarah Palin just a different gender.
At moments Cain has made impolitic statements, such as claiming that African-Americans have been brainwashed into voting for Democrats; that being gay is a choice; that poor, unemployed people should blame themselves; and, earlier in his campaign, that American communities should be allowed to ban mosques and that he would carefully screen any Muslims for terrorist ties before accepting them into his administration....
Imagine if he said Jews instead. There would have been an uproar.
But the agenda-pushing media is overlooking all that -- as they overlook so many things.

Like this, for instance:
"A new poll released yesterday by Harvard University and the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College found that Romney continues to command a strong lead among New Hampshire primary voters. Romney received support from 38 percent of respondents. Cain leapt over the rest of the field with 20 percent, followed by Paul at 13 percent. The others were at or below 5 percent....
With Occupy Wall Street protests continuing in new York, Boston, and elsewhere, Romney criticized the protesters for dividing the country.
I suppose Mitt would feel that way seeing as he is a creature of the 1%.
Romney, who founded the private equity investment firm Bain Capital, said he believes the financial services industry is key to the economy....
See if you can find it anywhere on the web.
Boston Globe
Oh. There is a wall there.
"With the Republican field now almost certainly set, the race has become largely a test for who will emerge as Romney’s chief rival....
Also participating in the debate.... Representative Ron Paul, of Texas.
************
Before the debate, liberal groups - echoing protests from the Occupy Wall Street movement raging in New York and spreading to Boston and throughout the country - dominated the free speech area on the Dartmouth College green.
While each of the Republican candidates had about a dozen supporters present, the most vocal groups were there supporting Social Security, action on climate change, and funding for AIDS research. About a dozen people advocating to preserve the current Social Security system- from gray-haired seniors to college students - tried to start a flash mob dance, snapping their fingers and spinning around to the tune “Stop before you break my heart.’’
Suzy Kerr, a retired lobbyist, came with her book club.
“We’re a bunch of 60-year-old women looking at our grandchildren not able to get jobs,’’ Kerr said. “We heard the Tea Party, and their answer is no. That’s no answer, no solution.’’
The debate, which was held at Dartmouth College, was sponsored by Bloomberg, the Washington Post, and WBIN.

"The NBC News poll found Romney with support from 23 percent of likely Republican caucus-goers in Iowa, followed by Cain with 20 percent. They were followed by Representative Ron Paul of Texas at 11 percent, and Perry and Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, who won the Ames straw poll in August, tied at 10 percent....
NBC reports that among Tea Party voters, Cain leads Romney, 31 percent to 15 percent.
Then the LAST THING that can be said is TEA PARTY is RACIST, right?
In New Hampshire, the NBC News-Marist poll has Romney at 44 percent, followed by Paul and Cain, both at 13 percent. The rest of the candidates are at or below 6 percent.

That's an AP piece, not what is in my printed paper.
All you need to really know is:
"Cain's economic program would result in shifting tax burdens -- and wage earners would have to pay their fare share to keep the government running....
Then SHUT IT the F*** DOWN!!!!
Taxes paid mainly by wealthiest Americans would vanish. The tax code would also be stripped of the tax breaks and exemptions that generally benefit the middle class and poor....
Some analysts say consumers could feel a double whammy if the business tax ends up being passed along in the form of higher prices."
The hell with the rest, readers.
