"In Libya on Sunday, protesters stormed the headquarters of the election commission in the eastern city of Benghazi, setting voting slips on fire, a Libyan militia commander said. The country will hold its first nationwide election, for national assembly, on July 7.
Fadallah Haroun, who commanded a rebel group during the uprising that toppled Moammar Khadafy, said he joined the protest Sunday, and that similar attacks were reported in two other cities in eastern Libya.
