Iraq Harbors Hezbollah Terrorist

Well, he's under house arrest in the Green Zone.

"White House moves to extradite prisoner from Iraq" by Lara Jakes and Qassim Abdul-Zahra  |  Associated Press, July 13, 2012

BAGHDAD — The White House has asked Iraq to hand over a Hezbollah commander who was accused of masterminding a 2007 attack that killed five American soldiers, a senior US official said Thursday.

Two Iraqi courts have declared Ali Mussa Daqduq not guilty in the attack. The case is a tricky aftermath of the long US military campaign in Iraq and has elements of both Iraqi and US internal politics.

What that means is we lost Iraq. We didn't get the oil contracts and we got a Shi'ite-led government that is allied with Iran. In no way, shape, or form can AmeriKa claim victory in Iraq.

Not the outcome envisioned by the PNAC pooh-bahs -- or was it?

Wow, is that a name that ever disappeared down the old memory hole. I have to give Ritter credit: I would not be here now were it not for him. I saw him speak a year before the Iraq invasion and knew it was based on lie. I then traveled backwards to find out what other history I had been lied to about, and my first stop was 9/11 (frown). After that it was one lie after another after another after another.... (sob).

"Scott Ritter, the former UN Weapons Inspector (an American) – who stated before the Iraq war started that there were no weapons of mass destruction – is now saying that he would not rule out staged government terror by the U.S. government to justify war against Iran."

Yeah, WE ALL KNOW NOW!

Once you know what a false flag is you never go back, baby.

AmeriKan MSM Bullshit Meter Explodes

That was a while ago.

Daqduq has been released from prison but is being held under house arrest in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone as Washington seeks to bring US charges against him. Daqduq, a Lebanese citizen, is considered a top threat to Americans in the Middle East and was detained for more than four years by the US military before it left Iraq in December.

Meaning he was tortured.

Antony J. Blinken, the national security adviser to Vice President Joe Biden, said the United States wants to keep Daqduq locked up for as long as is legally possible....

Meaning indefinitely like those pour souls at Gitmo.

This from the pontificating human rights lecturer, blah, blah, blah.

US auditors estimate that US taxpayers have spent about $10 billion since 2003 to rebuild and strengthen Iraq’s justice system after decades of abuse under deposed dictator Saddam Hussein.

(Blog editor is just incredulous at the waste and the arrogance.)

So what did we do, give them CSI DVDs?

Add another $10 billion, right?

Oh, did I mention this was ALL POLITICAL?

Releasing Daqduq now, however, would crimp White House efforts in the run-up to the US elections this fall to show that President Obama aggressively pursues terrorists.

You know, if I were a terrorist.... get after 'em, 'bamer.

‘‘The judiciary system said its final say: that he’s innocent and needs to be released,’’ said Daqduq’s attorney, Abdul-Mahdi al-Mitairi, a follower of the anti-US cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.

And we must respect the court's decision.  That is what we are told in AmeriKa.

On Thursday, two senior Iraqi officials said the government has decided it must abide by the court rulings and release Daqduq, and it is trying to find a way to do so without angering the White House....

"Iraq refused to send suspected militant to US for trial" by Lara Jakes  |  Associated Press, August 03, 2012

BAGHDAD — An Iraqi court has rejected a request to send a Hezbollah commander to the United States for trial, a decision that probably ends the Obama administration’s push to prosecute the Lebanese militant held in Iraq for the 2007 killings of five US soldiers.

The United States believes Ali Mussa Daqduq is a top threat to Americans in the Middle East, and had asked Baghdad to extradite him before two Iraqi courts found him not guilty of masterminding the 2007 raid on a US military base in the holy Shi’ite city of Karbala.

But the July 30 decision by the Iraqi central criminal court ordered that Daqduq be freed immediately. It also makes it clear that Iraq believes the legal case against him is over.

‘‘It is not possible to hand him over because the charges were dropped in the same case,’’ the three-judge panel ruled. ‘‘Therefore, the court decided to reject the request to hand over the Lebanese defendant Ali Mussa Daqduq to the US judiciary authorities, and to release him immediately.’’

The US Embassy in Baghdad declined to comment Thursday and referred questions about the case to Washington.

At the Pentagon, Defense spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Todd Breasseale said Daqduq ‘‘should be held accountable for his crimes. Period.’’ Breasseale said the Pentagon ‘‘will continue to work closely with the Iraqi government to explore all legal options to pursue justice.’’

Tired of hearing that talk from war criminals themselves.

In an AP interview last month, the national security adviser to Vice President Joe Biden said the White House has asked Iraq’s highest appeals court to review and overturn its order to free Daqduq. It was not clear Thursday whether that review was continuing.

Biden called Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Thursday to discuss unspecified issues between the United States and Iraq, according to a statement from the premier’s office.

The statement did not mention Daqduq, but Biden has been following the case closely and has asked Iraq’s government to keep the militant locked up for as long as legally possible.

Daqduq’s lawyer, Abdul-Mahdi al-Mitairi, said the militant is still being held under house arrest in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone. He said he will push to have Daqduq released before the end of Ramadan, the ongoing Muslim holy month that ends later in August.

Washington believes the Lebanese-born Daqduq worked with Iranian agents to train Shi’ite militias to target the US military during the years of sectarian violence that gripped Iraq over the last decade.

Okay, that does it!  I no longer buy the divide and conquer cover story or the sectarian slop served up by my Zionist prism, sorry. Sectarianism and Islamic extremism are simply code words for western intelligence operations.

His case has illustrated the tricky aftermath of the long US military campaign in Iraq that ended last year and has elements of both Iraqi and US internal politics.

Daqduq was detained for more than four years by the US military before it left Iraq in December. He was handed to Iraqi authorities as required when the troops left, amid a debate between the Democratic White House and Republicans in Congress over whether high-risk terror suspects should be brought to the United States for trial.

Republican lawmakers said Daqduq was too much of a public threat to be incarcerated on US soil, and wanted him to be held at the Navy base on Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. President Obama refused.

Our prison security that bad?

And now he will be out and headed straight for the porous AmeriKan borders or airports, right?

"Al Qaeda clashes with Iraqi forces" New York Times, July 27, 2012

CAIRO — Al Qaeda insurgents clashed with Iraqi security forces Thursday, the second attack this week in what Al Qaeda in Iraq’s leader has depicted as a new offensive aimed at recapturing lost ground.

Excuse me, readers. I need to use the toilet

At least 12 people were killed, including five Iraqi policemen and seven militants, according to a police source in Diyala Province. The Associated Press reported that an Iraqi helicopter was shot down in the attack, but Iraqi officials said it had only been damaged....

On Sunday, the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, who goes by the pseudonym Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, announced in an unusual audio recording, posted on a jihadi website, that an offensive was about to begin in which the insurgents would seek to regain ground they had held in Iraq before US forces helped oust them.

He said what, where?

See: Sunday Globe Special: Israeli Invasion of Syria Imminent

After what happened in the Sinai the other day and the way Israel has been talking about Iran I can see that being part of it.

The next day, the group launched a coordinated series of at least 40 attacks that killed over 100 people in Iraq. Al Qaeda has also announced its intention to join the conflict in Syria on the side of the popular uprising there, although opposition leaders have disavowed any connection with extremist groups.

Yes, the WHOLE WORLD KNOWS "Al-CIA-Duh" is fomenting a COUP there!

"Resurgent militants kill 7 Iraqi police" Associated Press, July 30, 2012

BAGHDAD — Two bombings and a drive-by shooting Sunday killed seven Iraqi police in a former Al Qaeda stronghold in the western part of the country, authorities said, another sign of the militants’ resurgence.

The attacks before dawn also wounded nine police. They came a week after the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq announced a deadly campaign to reclaim parts of the country the Sunni insurgency was forced to leave before the US military pulled out last December.

After the attacks, security forces sealed off all roads leading into Fallujah and imposed a curfew on the city....

Fallujah was the site of some of the bloodiest battles of the war in 2004.

And the scene of a U.S. war crime.

In 2007, some local tribal leaders in Iraq’s Sunni-dominated western Anbar region joined forces with US troops and forced Al Qaeda to retreat. Now, Al Qaeda in Iraq is seeking to make a comeback in Sunni areas.

"Bombs kill 21, underlining Iraq chaos" by Bushra Juhi and Lara Jakes  |  Associated Press, August 01, 2012

BAGHDAD — A double bombing struck at an upscale neighborhood in Iraq’s capital Tuesday, killing at least 21 people, even though police stopped three attackers storming a counterterror unit as the government strained to control chaos, largely fomented by Al Qaeda, gripping the country.

The bloody explosions came on the same day that Iraq’s government discussed security issues with Iran, a measure of Tehran’s growing influence.

It's all coincidence, right?

Two cars parked in the mostly-Shi’ite shopping district of Karradah exploded during the afternoon rush hour. Most of the dead were store owners and passersby, although the blasts hit near two police headquarters and a security checkpoint, killing six policemen.

That's the way "CIA-Duh" wins hearts, minds, and lost ground.

The bombs sent plumes of black smoke over the neighborhood, located across the Tigris River from the Green Zone, and the sound of gunshots could be heard blocks away.

The violence brought the July death toll to 245 people killed in shootings and bombings, approaching the carnage in January, when 255 people were killed following the US pullout.

Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for nearly all the attacks as it seeks to take advantage of political instability in Iraq and move back into areas it was forced to abandon before the US military left the country in December.
