"Bouncer accused of hitting clubgoers" by Evan Allen | Globe Correspondent, March 25, 2013
A bouncer at the Grand Canal in Boston will be arraigned Tuesday in Boston Municipal Court on charges that he kicked, punched, and choked several patrons while throwing them out of the Canal Street bar early Sunday morning, according to Boston police and the Suffolk district attorney’s office....
The patrons told police they were in the club taking a picture when they accidentally bumped into a woman and an argument broke out, according to the statement. Sidney Phillips, 31, of Avon then moved in to kick the group of about 10 people out of the bar....
Officers were shown a cellphone video of the fight, according to the statement, which appears to have been uploaded to YouTube.
A Boston police spokeswoman said the department cannot comment on whether the video being used for evidence is the same one uploaded to YouTube.
The video shows a man stomping and kicking another man who is curled up in the street, as several people scream and try to pull him away.
A woman who answered the phone at the Grand Canal and identified herself as a manager said the club is not making any comment.
According to a spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney, Phillips made bail. He could not be reached for comment.

"The club’s managers were “not very cooperative” when police arrived to break up the fight, the police report said. The managers were slow to assemble the club’s bouncers, and it took officers more than 20 minutes to find Phillips, who was hiding in the basement of the club wearing different clothes than he had on earlier in the night, according to the report."
