Nope.
"The political newcomer was being carefully managed by at least a half-dozen handlers who tightly orchestrated the day’s events and lined up brief interviews with individual news organizations before ushering the candidate to the next event."

"Gabriel E. Gomez sought Senate appointment" by Frank Phillips | Globe Staff, February 22, 2013
Gabriel E. Gomez, the wealthy private equity manager from Cohasset, who is running as a Republican in the US Senate special election, lobbied Democratic Governor Deval Patrick to give him the temporary appointment to the seat after John F. Kerry resigned to become secretary of state....
Gomez’s outreach to Patrick, for what was widely considered a Democratic appointment to support the party’s agenda, could create an issue for Gomez in the GOP primary....
Ya' think?

Not for long.
Gomez’s political activities appear to span the ideological spectrum. Although he is a longtime registered Republican, Gomez donated money to Barack Obama in 2008 and to liberal Senate candidate Alan Khazei in 2009.

Gomez, a former Navy SEAL, also joined with a right-wing group of Navy SEALs last August to denounce Obama, claiming he and his administration were leaking information about Osama Bin Laden’s death to help the president politically.
They were, but....

And since they are nothing but mouthpieces for the government....
Some of those involved in the organization, known as OPSEC, are outspoken critics of Obama, questioning whether he was born in the United States, implying he is a Muslim, and charging that he was carrying out a socialist agenda....
Oh, it's a controlled-opposition fruit group assigned to discredit, although he is for socialism when it comes to the the banks and war-profiteering corporations. As for the rest of us, it's good old austerity in times of totalitarian tyranny.

I decide not to seek it, readers. I wouldn't have gotten enough signatures anyway.

"Senate hopeful critical of bin Laden spy leaks" by Stephanie Ebbert | Globe Staff, February 16, 2013
US Senate hopeful Gabriel E. Gomez may be a fresh face to the Massachusetts Republican Party, but the former Navy Seal was briefly the face of a controversial group that criticized President Obama for politicizing the killing of Osama bin Laden.
I criticize the whole lying narrative behind him and that infamous event he is allegedly responsible for.
Made up of former Navy SEALs and intelligence officers, the group, known as the Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund, expressed concern that national security was being compromised by a spate of intelligence leaks.

The focus of the organization’s campaign was a 22-minute video released three months before the election that slammed Obama for exploiting the killing of bin Laden and endangering troops for political purposes.
I suppose they could put the blame on Plame.
Democrats called it a parallel of the 2004 election in which a group of veterans launched a campaign questioning the war heroism of Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry, turning a perceived strength into a potential liability....
Except the Democrat stole the election this time.

And that letter didn't help him win any love, either:
"Gomez loses some support" by Stephanie Ebbert | Globe Staff, March 15, 2013
Republican US Senate candidate Gabriel E. Gomez lost the support of two of the three leaders of his women’s coalition Thursday, a day after releasing a letter that showed him praising Governor Deval Patrick, a Democrat, and attesting to his support for President Obama in the 2008 election....
Gomez has presented himself as a nonpolitician who would shake up the status quo in the US Senate. On Thursday, he called for such provocative measures as congressional and Senate term limits, a freeze on congressional pay, and a lifetime ban preventing members of Congress from becoming lobbyists.
My concerns are the endless wars for empire and Israel, and the largest looting scheme in world history, namely the private central banking system. Those things are at the fringes of a corrupt, rank, and fetid corpse, folks.
In the April 30 Republican primary, Gomez faces two other contenders: state Representative Daniel B. Winslow of Norfolk and Michael J. Sullivan, a former US attorney from Abington. The Democratic candidates are US Representatives Stephen F. Lynch and Edward J. Markey.
The general election will be held June 25.

Dancing with the Democrats
Do you really think that will help?
"Former US attorney Michael J. Sullivan is ahead in the battle for the GOP nomination, according to a new WBUR poll released Tuesday. Sullivan leads with support from 28 percent of respondents who are likely voters, compared to 10 percent for state Representative Daniel B. Winslow, and 8 percent for Gabriel E. Gomez, a private equity investor and onetime Navy SEAL. Even more respondents — between 30 and 36 percent, depending on the candidate — said they had never heard of or were undecided about the GOP candidates."
