"Killer of N.J. trooper added to FBI list" by David Porter |  Associated Press, May 03, 2013

NEWARK — The reward for the capture of a fugitive convicted of murdering a New Jersey state trooper was doubled to $2 million Thursday, the 40th anniversary of the shooting.

The FBI also said it has made Joanne Chesimard, who now lives in Cuba as Assata Shakur, the first woman on its list of most wanted terrorists.

The Justice Department has offered $1 million for information leading to her capture. The additional money is being put up by the state.

Chesimard, a member of the Black Liberation Army, was convicted in 1977 of the murder of Werner Foerster during a traffic stop. She escaped from prison in 1979.
