Afghan Weather Report

"The nation has also been beset by bad weather. Heavy rain and overnight hailstorms killed at least 22 people near Afghanistan’s capital, a disaster management official said Sunday. Mohammad Daim Kakar, who coordinates disaster management for Kabul province, said the rains began late Saturday and continued into Sunday morning."

"RAINS SWAMP CAMP -- Afghan military forces donated winter relief supplies to dozens of families in a refugee camp affected by heavy rains in the province of Herat (Monday February 4 2013)."

The photograph in my printed paper shows a young girl standing in a puddle. Yeah, everything is going swimmingly in Afghanistan!

"Fighting is also expected to intensify as the traditional spring fighting season gets underway after the heavy snow that blankets much of northern and eastern Afghanistan starts melting."
