"US credits key hacker in blocking of attacks" by Benjamin Weiser and Mark Mazzetti | New York Times   May 25, 2014

NEW YORK — A prominent hacker set to be sentenced in federal court this week for breaking into numerous computer systems worldwide has provided a trove of information to the authorities, allowing them to disrupt at least 300 cyberattacks, according to a newly filed government court document.

The targets of the planned attacks included the US military, Congress, the federal courts, NASA, and private companies, the document stated.

More self-inflicted false flags for the usual rea$ons.

The hacker, Hector Xavier Monsegur, also helped the authorities dismantle an aggressive cell of the hacking collective Anonymous, leading to the arrest of eight of its members in Europe and the United States, including Jeremy Hammond, whom the FBI said was its top “cybercriminal target,” the document says. Hammond is serving a 10-year prison term.

The court document was prepared by prosecutors who are asking a judge, Loretta A. Preska, for leniency for Monsegur because of his “extraordinary cooperation.” He is set to be sentenced Tuesday in US District Court on hacking conspiracy and other charges that could result in a long prison sentence.

It has been known since 2012 that Monsegur was acting as a government mole in the shadowy world of computer hacking, but the memorandum submitted to Preska late Friday reveals for the first time the extent of his assistance and what the government perceives of its value. It also offers the government’s first explanation of Monsegur’s involvement in a series of coordinated attacks on foreign websites in early 2012.

The whereabouts of Monsegur have been shrouded in mystery. Since his cooperation with the authorities became known, he has been vilified online by supporters of Anonymous. The memo says that, meanwhile, the government became so concerned about his safety that it relocated him and his family.

“Monsegur repeatedly was approached on the street and threatened or menaced about his cooperation once it became publicly known,” says the memo, which was prepared by the office of Preet Bharara, the US attorney in Manhattan.

Monsegur’s role emerged in March 2012 when the authorities announced charges against Hammond and others. A few months later, Monsegur’s bail was revoked after he made “unauthorized online postings,” the document says. He was jailed for seven months, then was released on bail in December 2012, and has made no further postings, the memo says.

Do I really have to comment at this point?

"Prosecutors: Hacker aided FBI" Associated Press   May 27, 2014

NEW YORK — A computer hacker who infiltrated major corporations later switched sides and helped the government disrupt hundreds of cyberattacks on Congress, NASA, and other sensitive targets, federal prosecutors said. Of course, he was working for them all along.

That's where your tax money is going, Americans. Then the attacks can be blamed on China, Syria, Russia, Ira, or whoever the hell else the U.S. government is looking to wage war on.

Yeah, this is getting old, readers. The empire has no clothes, and the sight of its nakedne$$ is gro$$.

They detailed the cooperation of Hector Xavier Monsegur for the first time in court papers while asking a judge to reward him with leniency at his sentencing Tuesday. They credited him with helping them cripple Anonymous, “hacktivists” who stole confidential data, defaced websites, and temporarily put some victims out of business.

Ever notice Anonymous never goes after the porn sites?

Turns out we knew their name all along.

Monsegur provided “information about then-ongoing computer hacks and vulnerabilities in significant computer systems,’’ prosecutors wrote. The FBI estimates he helped prevent millions of dollars in losses. After his 2011 guilty plea, he faced two decades behind bars; now, the sentence could be two years or less.

Monsegur led an Anonymous splinter group called Lulz Security. Reports he was cooperating with the FBI made him a pariah in the movement, and harassment prompted the government to relocate him.

My stomach is starting to ache from the laughable propaganda

"Hacker who helped feds gets no more time in prison" by Larry Neumeister | Associated Press   May 28, 2014

NEW YORK — A computer hacker who helped the government disrupt hundreds of cyberattacks on Congress, NASA, and other sensitive targets and cripple the hacktivist crew known as Anonymous got a hero’s welcome Tuesday at his sentencing in federal court, where prosecutors hugged him after he was spared more prison time.

US District Chief Judge Loretta A. Preska credited Hector Xavier Monsegur’s ‘‘extraordinary cooperation’’ before saying he won’t serve more than the seven months he spent in prison two years ago. Federal sentencing guidelines had called for more than 20 years in prison.

‘‘It was truly extraordinary,’’ she said of his cooperation, noting he worked around-the-clock for months, disrupting or preventing at least 300 computer hacks over the last three years. ‘‘We don’t often hear of this.’’

She also marveled that Monsegur, 30, of Manhattan, showed ‘‘extreme care’’ for a young cousin for whom he served as a guardian, even as Monsegur was subjected to personal threats so severe that the FBI relocated Monsegur and some family members.

Afterward, a relieved Monsegur hugged prosecutors who had urged leniency.

‘‘I’m not the same person as four years ago,’’ said Monsegur, who was arrested in June 2011 and pleaded guilty two months later.

Prosecutors said he helped disrupt or prevent hacks against divisions of the US government including the armed forces, Congress, courts, and NASA; international intergovernmental organizations; and several private companies, including a television network, a security firm, a video game maker, and an electronics conglomerate.

Prosecutors said he prevented millions of dollars in losses and also pointed out vulnerabilities in infrastructure, including at a US water utility and at a foreign energy company.

In one instance, Monsegur saved the government substantial time and resources by quickly establishing that a claim by Anonymous that it had hacked the US electrical grid was a hoax, prosecutors said.

"The report was produced by the Bipartisan Policy Center, a Washington nonprofit group, and led by Michael V. Hayden, a former CIA director; Curt Hébert Jr., a former chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; and Susan Tierney, a former assistant energy secretary and former utility regulator in Massachusetts."

Time to wake up, America. The foundations of everything you believe, everything you are told, and everything you see on ma$$ media is all one fantastic hoax after another, staged and scripted crisis drills or self-inflicted false flags. It's all a mind-manipulating foundation of lies, folks, for the u$ual rea$ons.

According to court papers, Monsegur first began hacking in 1999, breaking into thousands of computers over the next four years before trying to grow a legitimate computer security firm from 2004 to 2006.

Like I have been saying, it is ALL $ELF-$ERVING $HIT!

In 2006, he began to hack into computers for personal gain, stealing credit card information, prosecutors said.

That is when NSA said sic 'em to the FBI.

In a 2011 interview with the online magazine New Scientist, Monsegur said he joined forces with Anonymous because he was upset over the arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Yeah, notice how since Wikileaks was outed as a Mossad collection operation for blackmail purposes they have faded away to be replaced by Snowden?

Starting in early 2011 and using the alias Sabu, Monsegur led an Anonymous splinter group called Lulz Security, or LulzSec, which hacked the computer systems of Fox television, Nintendo, PayPal and other businesses, stole private information and bragged about its exploits online.

Basically screaming to the government to come get me. This is starting to really, really, $tink!

The group was loosely affiliated with Jeremy Hammond, the FBI’s most wanted cybercriminal, whose stated objective was to cause mayhem with the attacks, prosecutors said.

So the U.S. government's claims about cybercrime would be validated and they could crack down even harder on web surveillance and censorship.

Cui bono from all this hacking?

After his arrest, Monsegur immediately cooperated, giving the FBI a tutorial on the inner workings and participants of LulzSec and Anonymous, prosecutors said.

I hope you learned something in this post, readers.
