WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Tuesday implored more European countries to adopt US-style counterterrorism laws and tactics, including undercover stings to prevent potential terrorists from traveling to Syria.
He wants you to phony up a whole bunch of patsy plots with FBI instigators!
Holder’s speech in Oslo amounted to a full-throated endorsement of America’s preemptive counterterrorism strategy, which began in earnest under President George W. Bush.

If we wait for our nations’ citizens to travel to Syria or Iraq, to become radicalized, and to return home, it may be too late to adequately protect our national security.”
As Syria has descended into war, counterterrorism officials fear that Westerners will travel there to train and fight with terrorist groups. Because of flexible travel agreements between European countries and the United States, officials have long feared the threat of terrorists with Western passports.

The US government estimates that there are more than 7,000 foreigners, including dozens of Americans, fighting in Syria. The Justice Department has offered to help other countries draft laws giving governments wider authority to prosecute people before they launch attacks.
Holder applauded Norway and France for recently adopting laws criminalizing the intent to commit terrorism. French authorities have used this authority to arrest and convict people who had hoped to join militants in Syria. Officials pledged to push legislation expanding that ability.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Passengers at some overseas airports that offer U.S.-bound flights will soon be required to power on their electronic devices in order to board their flights. The measure is intended to enhance aviation security at a time of increased threats.
No, the measure is to see what is on peoples cellphones and computers!
And you GOT THAT, American people?
The TERRORISTS ARE COMING to SAVE the U.S. GOVERNMENT from itself again!
The Transportation Security Administration says it is adding the requirement that passengers coming to the U.S. from some airports must turn on devices such as cellphones before boarding. It says devices that won’t power up won’t be allowed on planes and those travelers may have to undergo additional screening.
There is a simple solution to all of this, my foreign friends:

American intelligence officials have been concerned about new Al Qaeda efforts to produce a bomb that would go undetected through airport security. There is no indication that such a bomb has been created or that there’s a specific threat to the U.S.
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson recently ordered the TSA to call for extra security measures at some international airports with direct flights to the United States. TSA does not conduct screening abroad, but has the ability to set screening criteria and processes for flights flying to the U.S. from abroad, according to a Homeland Security Department official, who was not allowed to discuss the changes publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
During an interview aired Sunday on NBC’s ‘‘Meet The Press,’’ Johnson declined to speculate on whether new security procedures called for overseas will be required at domestic airports in the future.
Meaning it will as the total surveillance tyranny gets an even deeper hold.
‘‘We continue to evaluate things,’’ he said. ‘‘The screening we have right domestically from one domestic airport to another is pretty robust, as the American traveling public knows. In this instance we felt that it was important to crank it up some at the last point of departure airports and we'll continually evaluate the situation.’’
TSA will not disclose which airports will be conducting the additional screening....
American intelligence officials said earlier this week that they have picked up indications that bomb makers from Yemen-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula have traveled to Syria to link up with the Al Qaeda affiliate there.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula long has been fixated on bringing down airplanes with hidden explosives. It was behind failed and thwarted plots involving suicide bombers with explosives designed to be hidden inside underwear and explosives secreted inside printer cartridges shipped on cargo planes.
Over the past year, Americans and others from the West have traveled to Syria to join the fight against the Syrian government. The fear is that a fighter with a U.S. or other Western passport, who therefore may be subject to less stringent security screening, could carry such a bomb onto an American plane.
If so then ALL the TERRORISM WATCH LISTS and NSA DATA COLLECTION will have been ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS and will have to be SHUTDOWN and ELIMINATED!

"2 Britons guilty of preparing acts of terror in Syria" Associated Press July 09, 2014
LONDON — Two British men who joined antigovernment militants in Syria pleaded guilty Tuesday to preparing acts of terrorism.
Friends Mohammed Nahin Ahmed and Yusuf Zubair Sarwar, both 22, spent eight months in the war-torn country last year after contacting jihadi militants over the Internet. They were arrested at Heathrow Airport when they returned in January. Police found photos of the pair with guns on a digital camera, as well as traces of military explosives on their clothing and shoes.
Judge Michael Topolski said the men ‘‘carefully planned a journey from the United Kingdom to Turkey and on to Syria to join Islamist rebels fighting the regime of Bashar al-Assad.’’ They will be sentenced at a later date.
Authorities say hundreds of Britons have traveled to Syria and fought alongside extremist militants. Intelligence officials fear some could bring terrorism back to Britain when they return.
