A “love triangle” may have led a group of up to eight men to attack a pregnant woman in Cambridge on Tuesday afternoon, punching and kicking the woman in the stomach in an altercation near Central Square, police said.

I can't imagine anything more horrifying.  

The woman, who has not been identified, is in her early twenties and is reportedly one month pregnant, according to Jeremy Warnick, a spokesman for the department. “She was intervening after two men known to her were involved in an altercation,” Warnick said.

“It was sort of a love triangle situation,” Warnick added. “The two men initially involved in the fight are a former and current love interest.”

Love has nothing to do with this.

A baby boy was born on the side of Route 3 in Norwell on Monday night, after his frantic parents pulled over between exits 12 and 13, authorities said.

The parents were driving to the hospital, but were forced to call for emergency help at about 9:40 p.m. when they realized the baby was on the way. Emergency responders performed a “textbook” example of delivering a baby in a breakdown lane, said Norwell Fire Captain David Kean....
