The Bush Rules

"Although the Obama administration could reverse the rule, it would require a lengthy process"

WHY? Bush signs an order (or a statement) and it's a law (or a crime) ipso facto!!! But Obama needs a "lengthy process" to undue it? WHY? Just SIGN and ORDER countermanding it and THAT'S THAT, right (Sig Heil)?

Besides, 'bamer and the band ain't gonna stand up to nobody except whomever Israel tells 'em!

"'Right of conscience' rule issued for health workers; Conservatives lobbied Bush on safeguard" by Rob Stein, Washington Post | December 19, 2008

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration yesterday issued a sweeping new regulation that protects a broad range of healthcare workers - from doctors to janitors - who refuse to participate in providing services that they believe violate their personal, moral, or religious beliefs.

The controversial rule empowers federal health officials to cut off federal funding for any state or local government, hospital, clinic, health plan, doctor's office or other entity if it does not accommodate employees who exercise their "right of conscience." It would apply to more than 584,000 healthcare facilities....

Why they gotta f*** with the health? How about SHUTTING OFF the WAR LOOTERS instead?! For crying out loud, I am ANTI-ABORTION but I don't want them TAKING MONEY AWAY from HEALTH CARE!! Get it from the WALL STREET BAILOUT or the WAR MACHINE for once, will ya?!!!!

The 127-page rule is the latest in a flurry of federal regulations that the administration is implementing before President Bush's term ends, including a number that would weaken government protections for consumers and the environment. Although the Obama administration could reverse the rule, it would require a lengthy process....

WTF?

"Conservationists sue to stop sale of drilling leases in Utah" by Matthew Daly, Associated Press | December 18, 2008

WASHINGTON - Conservation groups filed a lawsuit yesterday to block the Bush administration's last-minute sale of oil-and-gas drilling leases in Utah amid spectacular scenery near national parks.

The Bureau of Land Management has scheduled an auction tomorrow to sell drilling leases covering more than 100,000 acres of wild land in eastern Utah. Actor Robert Redford, a longtime environmental activist, called the lease sale "morally criminal." Redford, who owns a home in Utah and hosts the annual Sundance Film Festival there, said the leasing issue is emotional for him, since he has spent much of his adult life in southern Utah, on foot and on horseback.

Are the gays protesting him because he lives in a hate state? Or does Sundance get a pass because he's Hollywood?

"These lands do not belong to Bush and Cheney. It's our land - public lands - and the BLM is supposed to be protecting lands on our behalf," Redford said via satellite from Los Angeles during a news conference in Washington. President Bush "may be a lame duck," Redford added, "but he can still quack. I say: Stop it. Enough is enough."

Well, at least Bob is more in touch with the world than Rachel Maddow!
