"Hub police show no gain in solving homicides; Commissioner had bolstered unit" by Maria Cramer, Globe Staff | January 19, 2009
The Boston Police Department's record of solving homicides has not shown improvement since 2006, despite the commissioner's highly touted efforts to strengthen the homicide unit and a range of new initiatives designed to protect witnesses and bring cases before grand juries more quickly.
Yeah, I guess the Boston cops have better things to do:
"Earlier this month, police wrapped up a 30-day sting involving plainclothes officers mimicking tourists and other pedestrians. Once they were panhandled, they essentially became victims guaranteed to show up for a trial"
Yeah, the Boston cops got time to cruise the strip, bust brothels, hang out in bars, buy drugs, and worry about cellphones while ROBBERIES, RAPES, and MURDERS go UNSOLVED!!!
WTF are they paying you for, other than to enforce tyranny upon themselves?
Btw, what ever happened to David Woodman investigation?

--more--""In new South Boston, break-ins jump; Police urge return to neighborliness" by Maria Cramer, Globe Staff | January 19, 2009
.... Police in this once tight-knit district are grappling with a sharp rise in house break-ins and are practically begging the people of South Boston to do the neighborly thing if they see something strange: Please, please call 911....
Which proves they PREVENT NOTHING! So why do we need the TAC SQUADS and all the other accoutrements of a police state tyranny?
The influx of young families and professionals has ushered in chic boutiques and trendy bars, and helped revitalize the image of a neighborhood many once associated with drug addicts and gangsters. But the new faces have eroded that sense of familiarity that made neighbors watch out for each other, according to police and longtime residents.
"Right now some of the people who live in the condos in this block, they're not interested in the neighborhood or even being neighborly and friendly," said Marcia Campbell, a 69-year-old retired business owner who has lived in South Boston for four decades. "They just give you a little nod on the street even if they see you day after day. There is not that congeniality there used to be."
Sounds like my neighborhood!
Overall, crime in South Boston fell in 2008, but police have become alarmed by a rash of break-ins during the day, particularly in the east section of the neighborhood.
You know, they twll me it's up, it' down, it's up, it's down, I just don't want to hear whichever lie it is anymore.
The thieves, who police believe are a small group of drug addicts, have absconded with laptops, televisions, iPods, and jewelry. According to police, they have walked into apartment buildings or three-deckers, knocked on an apartment door, and, if no one was home, jimmied the lock and burst in. If someone answered the door, they said they were looking for someone else and moved on, police said....
Drug addicts so organized? I don't think so; so how many Jeiwsh crime gangs and operations are there, anyway?
Captain Robert Flaherty said most of the burglaries are preventable. Many victims left their front doors open, giving thieves a chance to walk into the main building and break into the apartments inside. Officers have been patrolling hot spots and recently arrested two men they believe to be among the culprits, Flaherty said.
Not here. We lock down tight, and prepare for intrusions.
You'll be sorrrrryyyy....
But it would be helpful, he said, if residents reported seeing someone suspicious going into a neighbor's house.
And Sig Heil when you call it in, will ya?
"Nobody seems to be looking out for anybody," Flaherty said....
Hey, WELCOME to FRIENDLY, LIBERAL (can't get thar from here) MASSACHUSETTS and AmeriKa!

I guess the Boston cops have better things to do:
"MBTA police to assist in inauguration
Twenty members of the MBTA's Transit Police Department have been tapped to join the thousands of law enforcement officials heading to Washington to help provide security for tomorrow's inauguration of Barack Obama. The MBTA officers were set to leave Boston yesterday on an Amtrak train for the largest security operation for a presidential inauguration. Transit Police Chief Paul MacMillan said he received a request last month from Washington's Metro Transit Police for help in providing public transport security during the events. A lieutenant, two sergeants, 14 officers, and three explosives detection K-9 teams will spend four days in Washington (AP)."
All for a CREATED and MANUFACTURED THREAT by YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT, AmeriKa!
What's the CARBON FOOTPRINT on that, anyway?
