"Gunmen storm Iraq’s central bank; 26 killed; Insurgents may be emboldened by political deadlock" by Kim Gamel, Associated Press | June 14, 2010
BAGHDAD — Insurgents wearing military uniforms stormed Iraq’s central bank yesterday during an apparent robbery attempt, battling security forces in a three-hour standoff after bombs exploded nearby in a coordinated attack that left as many as 26 people dead.
The assault on Iraq’s top financial institution stoked fears that insurgents are taking advantage of political deadlock after inconclusive March 7 national elections to try to derail security gains as the United States prepares to withdraw its forces by the end of next year.
You smelling something, readers, because I sure am.
The 325-member parliament was due to convene today, but analysts have said agreement on a new government could still be months away.
An Iraqi military spokesman, Major General Qassim al-Moussawi, blamed the attack on Al Qaeda in Iraq but said no money had been stolen from the bank, which holds gold deposits as well as US and Iraqi currency....
NO MONEY STOLEN?!!
So which "Al-CIA-Duh" would that be, huh?
The made-up "Al-CIA-Duh?"

Whoever it is, the last place you are going to find out is an AmeriKan newspaper.
An unknown number of attackers managed to get to a higher floor and set a fire to burn some documents and may have escaped by blending in with the bank employees, he added, saying the motive appeared to be to steal the bank’s deposits, then blow up the building....
How would they know, unless.... ????
And WTF, readers?
"Terrorists" CARE about BANK DOCUMENTS while FORGETTING to STEAL the MONEY?
Violent robberies that bear some of the hallmarks of politically motivated attacks have been on the rise in Iraq, as sectarian violence ebbs.
When the AmeriKan MSM starts rolling this s*** better grab your boots!
Yeah, now it ain't "Al-CIA-Duh,' blah, blah, blah.
Iraqi officials have attributed at least some of them to cash-strapped militants desperately trying to raise money for their operations.
But the attack appeared also to have a political motive as insurgents led by Al Qaeda in Iraq seek to undermine confidence in the US-backed government and other state institutions. It was reminiscent of violence that was common at the height of sectarian violence that pushed the country to the brink of civil war in 2006-2007 before a series of US-Iraqi offensives....
Yup, you are JUST GOING to have to STAY ANYWAY, AmeriKa!!!!
The narrow victory of the Sunni-backed Iraqiya party in the March 7 parliamentary vote was initially heralded as a groundbreaking step toward a secular Iraqi government after years of Sunni-Shi’ite tensions.
But an alliance between Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and another major Shi’ite coalition, brokered with the help of Iran, has sparked months of political maneuvering, leaving the government in limbo. And we can't possibly have that.
