Vermont's Founding Father

Vote him down, Vermonters.

"Ex-UN diplomat to run for state Senate

Former United Nations diplomat Peter Galbraith says he is going to run for the state Senate from Windham County. Last year, Galbraith, 59, was fired from a UN post in Afghanistan after a disagreement over last year’s presidential election in that country. Galbraith has also served as a US diplomat in Croatia, East Timor, and Iraq. Years ago, he served as chairman of the Vermont Democratic Party. Galbraith told the Rutland Herald that even though he has spent years outside Vermont, Townshend has remained his legal home. His father, the late economist John Kenneth Galbraith, moved there in 1947 (AP)."
