Are you sure he wasn't working for the Pentagon?

"4th-grade teacher faces child pornography charge" by Sean Teehan, Globe Correspondent | August 7, 2010

A North Billerica man, who previously worked as a fourth grade teacher and camp counselor, was charged yesterday with possessing child pornography, according to the US attorney’s office in Boston.

The charges against Lawrence Follett, 46, resulted from an investigation conducted by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Interpol, an international police organization based in Switzerland, according to a statement.

Follett, who taught at Blanchard Memorial School in Boxborough and worked at Camp Moosilauke in New Hampshire, “knowingly possessed matter which contained visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct’’ on or around June 24, 2009, the statement said.

The date stipulated in the charges was the last day of the 2008-2009 Blanchard Memorial school year, according to an administrator at Blanchard Memorial. Follett went on paid administrative leave before the 2009-2010 school year, the administrator said. He last worked at Camp Moosilauke in summer 2008, said Christina DiLorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for the US attorney’s office.

Someone give him a photograph?

Follett could face up to 10 years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release and a $250,000 fine, according to the US attorney’s office.

Follett’s case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative to protect children against exploitation and abuse.

Of course, it is okay for the same government to send them of to war over lies.

Follett is being held until his detention hearing Monday, DiLorio-Sterling said.

Follett’s lawyer, Richard Chambers Jr., did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
