Globe Endorses Government on Evaporated Oil From Gulf Gusher

I noticed they NEVER PRINTED the NOAA RETRACTION!

I really can not describe the sadness with which is read this report this morning.

If they will tell such a humongous lie here then all the rest is called into question.

Not only was this the United States government's Chernobyl, it has become the AmeriKan MSM's as well.

"Bacteria ate away at gulf oil plume, study shows; Findings verify government spill statistics" by David Brown, Washington Post | August 25, 2010

WASHINGTON — The Gulf of Mexico ecosystem was ready and waiting for something like the Deepwater Horizon blowout and seems to have made the most of it, a new scientific study suggests.

So this is the new lie to continue the war crime of a cover-up, huh?

Sigh. You can't see my long face and dejected demeanor, readers.

This is tragic for AmeriKans. For their MSM to be so disingenuous when this disaster is not a far-away war or a nebulous concept -- it's right in front of them.

Petroleum-eating bacteria, which had dined for eons on oil seeping naturally through the seafloor, proliferated in the cloud of oil that drifted underwater for months after the April 20 accident. They not only outcompeted fellow microbes, they each ramped up their own internal metabolic machinery to digest the oil as efficiently as possible.

I really do not know what to say anymore, readers. They always have another excuse or lie at the ready.

I have been waiting and waiting to see a sign of repentance from the MSM what with its industry dying and this was the perfect chance for them.

To have degenerated to such depths is just.... I dunno.... sob.

The result was a nature-made cleanup crew capable of reducing the amount of oil in the undersea plume by half about every three days, according to research published online yesterday by the journal Science.

Yup, now Science tells me the plumes are not there.

Okay, so Science can be put near the toilet for wipe duty and I won't be believing anything they say anymore.

The findings, by a team of scientists led by Terry C. Hazen of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, in California, help explain one of the biggest mysteries of the disaster: Where has all the oil gone?

The NATIONAL LAB said, huh?

*********

The findings point to a different conclusion from that drawn by many readers of a study published last week, also in the journal Science. That research, by scientists at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, found no reduction in the oxygen content of the gigantic oil plume, suggesting that microbes were consuming the oil very slowly.

Then WOODS HOLE is NEVER TO BE BELIEVED ever again!!!

Who could EVER BELIEVE in THEIR RESEARCH again!?!?

The study published yesterday also suggests indirectly that dispersants used to break the wellhead stream of oil into a mass of submicroscopic particles may have sped the cleanup. By increasing the surface area between oil and water, the dispersants seem to have provided the deep-sea microbes greater access to this unusual food source.

Yeah, it sunk into plumes and removed the oxygen as well as making people sick, but....

I think I'm going to be sick and it is not because of the oil.

Some of the spill’s 206 million gallons of oil have come ashore, some have sunk into bottom sediments, and a little is still a floating froth. But the mile-wide, 650-foot high cloud of oil that drifted for months 4,000 feet below the surface seems to have disappeared in the six weeks since the well was plugged.

Related: THE GULF WELL IS STILL LEAKING

Hey, they are lying about everything else!

They even lied about Obama's swim!

The plume’s whereabouts have been a contentious matter.

In the Woods Hole study published last week, scientists described finding an undersea oil cloud on June 23 to 27 similar to the one Hazen and his colleagues found between May 25 and June 2, which was similar to one found soon after by people from Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.

And then it magically disappeared.

But earlier this month, two weeks after the well was plugged July 15, scientists from the federal government argued that half the oil was gone from the water and the rest was disappearing fast. That assertion was viewed as unreasonably rosy by many specialists.

I thought they were, but....

However, Hazen’s calculation of the speed with which bacteria consumed the oil — combined with his recent findings that oil can no longer be detected in deep gulf waters — supports the credibility of all those positions.

Gone.

“We were all right,’’ he said....

Pffft!

In other words, BELIEVE WHATEVER LIE we tell you!

From a purely Darwinian point of view, this was no surprise. About 500,000 barrels of oil get into the gulf’s water each year through seafloor seeps.

Oh, yeah, now it is ALL NO BIG DEAL!!

Natural selection has favored microbial species able to quickly use oil as a nutrient. It has particularly favored ones that can use it in very cold, bottom waters — conditions generally not conducive to rapid bacterial growth.

Whatever, Globe.

I have been going HERE to find out what the MSM won't tell you.

Let's pile insult on top of injury

"New regulations may disqualify oil claims; Fla., Ala., oppose BP compensation fund guidelines" by Curt Anderson, Associated Press | August 21, 2010

MIAMI — A flower shop in Florida that saw a drop-off in weddings this summer is probably out of luck. So is a restaurant in Idaho that had to switch seafood suppliers. A hardware store on the Mississippi coast may be left out, too.

The latest guidelines for BP’s $20 billion victims’ compensation fund say the nearer you are geographically to the oil spill and the more closely you depend on the Gulf of Mexico’s natural resources, the better chance you have of getting a share of the money.

Also, a second set of rules expected this fall will require that businesses and individuals seeking compensation for long-term losses give up their right to sue BP and other spill-related companies — something that could save the oil giant billions.

Who matters more to this government that is serving and protecting you(?), America?

The new rules for the claims process were released yesterday by Washington lawyer Kenneth Feinberg, who was picked by President Obama to run the fund and previously oversaw claims for 9/11 victims.

"Kenneth Feinberg, who’s overseeing the Independent Claims Facility [and] was chosen by President Obama and BP for the role.... said he will be paid by BP but didn’t say how much."

One of those at the nexus of power and charged with guarding the secrets.

Beginning Monday, the claims will be handled by Feinberg rather than BP, which is still footing the entire $20 billion bill....

Yeah, you see who is paying Feinberg!

Feinberg’s guidelines say key factors include a claimant’s geographic proximity to the disaster and how much the business or property is linked to “injured natural resources.’’

Feinberg elaborated on his reasoning during town meetings this week in Louisiana.

“How close are you to the beach? To the gulf? BP got claims from restaurants in Idaho. Go figure,’’ he said. “How close are you? That’s a major factor. How dependent are you, as an individual or a business, on the resources of the gulf?’’

Translation: He is charge of LIMITING BP's LIABILITY and PAY OUTS!

That worries business owners like Susan Mitchell, who runs a flower shop about a mile from Pensacola Beach, Fla., where tarballs from the spill washed up....

Yeah, but that is all gone now and everything is back to normal.

Jeffrey Breit, a Virginia-based lawyer who represents more than 600 Gulf Coast fishermen, said the geographic limitations will certainly cut out many deserving claimants....

That's Feinberg's task.

"Gulf claims chief defends no-sue rule" by Associated Press | August 23, 2010

NEW ORLEANS — The new administrator for damage claims from gulf oil spill victims said yesterday that it was his idea, not BP’s, to require that anyone who receives a final settlement from the $20 billion compensation fund give up the right to sue the oil company....

Ken Feinberg insisted that payouts from the claims facility he will run will be more generous than those from any court.

Feinberg also ran the government compensation fund created after the 9/11 attacks, which had a similar no-sue provision....

Time to get drilling again!

HOUSTON — A Transocean rig manager testified yesterday that, about a week before the April 20 Deepwater Horizon explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, he challenged his counterparts at BP to explain their decision to swap out the most experienced well site leader — or “company man’’ — for someone less familiar with the rig....

The hearings are something of a hybrid. The federal investigators are not looking to bring charges, but rather will write a report, with safety recommendations, at the end of their inquiry....

Oh, it is another WHITEWASH just like the 9/11 Commission.

The hotel conference room yesterday was jammed with high-powered lawyers representing multibillion-dollar companies....

In the earlier hearings in New Orleans, the procedure incited frequent objections from the lawyers, and the hearings seemed at times on the verge of disintegrating. To counter the chaos, federal authorities added two new members to the investigatory board, most notably a recently retired United States district judge, Wayne Andersen. Andersen ran the hearing and was largely successful at keeping the lawyers on their best behavior.

Who knew GETTING the TRUTH would be SO DIFFICULT, huh?

Also yesterday, the top federal offshore oil drilling regulator said the temporary halt to deepwater drilling will remain in place for a few more months....
