Globe and Gulf Bonus Coverage

What they did not bother to give you:

New Oil Spill in Gulf ... 100-Mile Slick

What they did (and where):

"Transocean Ltd. gave its top executives bonuses for achieving the “best year in safety performance in our company’s history’’ despite the explosion of its oil rig that killed 11 people and spilled 200 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico. The company said in a regulatory filing that its most senior managers were given two thirds of their total possible safety bonus."

I am flabbergasted and astonished at the delusional disconnect by the oily scum -- and the brief sheen the BG put over it.

That doesn't change the perception, sorry.

"The blowout preventer that failed on a BP well last year, leading to the worst US offshore oil spill, was four years overdue for maintenance under driller Transocean Ltd.’s internal guidelines, a US regulator said."

But we are then told that was not the problem.

But Transocean insists it was in perfect working order.

"Federal scientists say they have dated coral living near the site of the busted BP oil well in the Gulf of Mexico at 2,000 years old. US Geological Survey agency scientist Nancy Prouty said scientists were looking at whether the coral had been damaged by the BP oil spill, but the damage assessment had not been completed."

As if we would believe anything this government ever said again.

Hey, who cares about coral?

When can the oil addicts start drilling again?
