Weaselly Weiner

And so is the Boston Globe

Weiner admits sending lewd photo; won’t resign (By Michael Barbaro, New York Times)

My printed paper is AP:

Weiner admits lying about lewd photo, won't quit

Another totally rewritten PoS!!

WTF is with the SHELL GAME CENSORSHIP?

"NY Rep. Weiner admits he sent suggestive photo but won't resign; `A very dumb thing to do'; Weiner admits he sent lewd picture; won't quit" by BETH FOUHY | Associated Press | Jun 6, 2011

After days of denials, a choked-up Rep. Anthony Weiner confessed Monday that he tweeted a photo of his bulging underpants to a young woman, and he also admitted to "inappropriate" exchanges with six women before and after he got married. He apologized for lying but said he would not resign.

Just SOP for a politician, right?

"This was me doing a dumb thing and doing it repeatedly and lying about it," the 46-year-old New York Democrat said after a week of double-entendre headlines and late-night wisecracks full of Weiner jokes.

Yes, flat-out, bald-faced lying is just a dumb thing to do.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi immediately called for an ethics committee investigation into whether Weiner broke House rules.

The congressman -- who was widely expected to run for mayor of New York in 2013 -- said at a half-hour news conference that he had never personally met any of the women he corresponded with online and sometimes via telephone over the past three years, and was not even sure of their ages. He also said he had never had sex outside of his marriage....

Is that a lie?

And don't we have laws for the kids about "sexting?"

Weiner married Huma Abedin, an aide to Hillary Rodham Clinton, last July, with former President Bill Clinton officiating.

I saw somewhere that she is a Muslim?

Yeah, let's add insult to injury, dick.

Weiner gained a national profile during the debate over President Barack Obama's health care plan when he outspokenly professed support for a government-run "single-payer" program for everyone and later a "public option" to compete with private health insurance. He got the notice of liberals even though both proposals failed to make it into law.

Yay, my health care hero!

Weiner: Cares about Israel
Forget the wars, the economy, the foreclosure fraud, the acceleration of outsourced American jobs - the corporate media won't stop waving weiners in our faces. Oh, and another pressing issue, extremely relevant, relating to Weinermania: "He cares about Israel and is very active in the Jewish community," said Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ).

Never alluded to in my newspaper, and no big surprise.

And on a personal note, I heard Thom Hartmann defend the guy on his radio show before I shut it off.  He doesn't care.  As the sound faded I found myself wondering whether he would be so magnanimous if it had been a Republican.

Yes, I am tired of false choice, controlled-opposition crap coming from the radio, how could you tell?
