Slow Saturday Special: Israel Controls World Airlines

"Most of the foreigners who planned to fly to Tel Aviv and join the “Welcome to Palestine’’ initiative were either deterred from trying to come or were prevented from boarding flights to Israel by foreign airlines, on instructions from the Israelis"

It doesn't get anymore obvious than that.

Oh, one of the
tough guys of the AmeriKan MSM.

BETHLEHEM, West Bank - Israel prevented a gathering of foreigners here yesterday by blocking, deterring, or deporting hundreds of air travelers who had been invited by Palestinian activists to fly into Israel’s Ben-Gurion International Airport and then travel to the West Bank for a week of “fellowship and actions.’’

Israel has traditionally been welcoming of foreign tourists to the West Bank, including more than 1 million Christian pilgrims who visited this Palestinian city of the Nativity last year. But Israeli authorities prepared for days to head off yesterday’s planned fly-in. The Israeli media added to the hype by dubbing it a “flightilla’’ - a reference to the flotilla that was supposed to challenge Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza last month but has been stymied by Israeli pressure and by the cooperation of Greek port authorities.

And so do the airlines.

As a result, most of the foreigners who planned to fly to Tel Aviv and join the “Welcome to Palestine’’ initiative were either deterred from trying to come or were prevented from boarding flights to Israel by foreign airlines, on instructions from the Israelis.

The Palestinian hosts, who had invited foreign supporters for a week of “fellowship and actions’’ in the Palestinian territories, decried the Israeli measures but also chalked up a small victory.

Fadi Kattan, a Palestinian organizer, said at a news conference in Bethlehem yesterday that he was “pleased - sadly pleased’’ that the episode had exposed what he described as Israel’s draconian anti-Palestinian policies.

Yeah, you keep thinking Israel can't make itself look any worse and yet they do.

Let Us Sail to Gaza

Yes, they have lost and my criticism had nothing to do with it. They did it to themselves because of their own inhumane, psychopathic paranoia.

Many Israeli commentators, meanwhile, criticized the country’s leaders for overreacting and for broadcasting an image of insecurity and panic.

During the past few days, hundreds of police officers were deployed in and around the airport near Tel Aviv. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured the base of operations at Ben-Gurion with his internal security minister, the police chief, security branch representatives and immigration officials.

Imagine how they would react to a real threat. Scary when you think about it.

They have a September surprise up their sleeve ready to go, cui bono?  It's happened before.

Yeah, isn't it strange that it was Israeli security firms that failed on 9/11; in Paris; to catch the  underwear bomber; in charge of tube security in London; and security at the Russian airport?!

There were persistent reports that the foreign visitors would try to create chaos and paralyze Ben-Gurion Airport, despite strenuous denials from the organizers of the campaign, who advocate nonviolence

Ah, fear, the city is rank with it.

They insisted that the foreigners only wanted to transit the airport and “go to Palestine.’’

By Thursday, the Interior Ministry had sent letters to foreign airlines with a list of 342 passengers it described as “pro-Palestinian radicals’’ planning to “arrive on commercial flights from abroad to disrupt the order and confront security forces at friction points.’’ Israel said people on the list would be refused entry, and it asked the airlines not to allow them to board flights, warning that if the listed passengers arrived at Ben-Gurion they would be sent back again on the same aircraft. Several airlines, including the German carrier Lufthansa, complied with Israel’s request.

Germany doesn't want to get hit with a "terror" attack.

"Greeks turn back flotilla boat trying to leave for Gaza" July 05, 2011|Associated Press

ATHENS - A boat taking part in a flotilla seeking to break Israel’s Gaza Strip sea blockade tried to leave the southern island of Crete yesterday but was turned back by Greek forces, as the Athens government warned that lives could be lost if the mission goes forward....

Lives ARE BEING LOST EVERY DAY in Gaza due to the siege!

Greece last week banned all boats participating in the Gaza flotilla from leaving port, citing security concerns after a similar flotilla last year was raided by Israeli forces, leaving nine activists on a Turkish boat dead.

Yeah, Israel can commit acts of piracy on the open seas; black Somalis defending their coastlines can't.

The Greek foreign ministry has offered to deliver the humanitarian aid the activists want to take to Gaza.

What is stopping you from sending your own?

Grigoris Delavekouras, Foreign Ministry spokesman, said the attempt to break the blockade comes at a delicate time in the Middle East. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah Party and Hamas have been trying to end a four-year rift that left the Palestinians with rival governments in the West Bank and Gaza.

“Greece is taking a responsible stance and dealing with a particular situation. And this situation says that there is an immediate danger to human life by participating in this attempt,’’ Delavekouras said. “This is something that arises from experience. I think we all remember the tragic events we had last year. The region doesn’t need this at the moment.’’

Yeah, the Israelis might kill more people over blankets, cookies, and milk.

Israel says....

You know what? Israel has whole propaganda operations getting their word out (including the Zionist War Daily I read) so I think we have heard enough of what Israel says.

Activist Dror Feiler accused Greece of doing dirty work for Israel by blocking the vessel....

Yeah, that's right.

"UN report criticizes Israel for firing on demonstrators; Finds protesters also in violation during May clash" July 08, 2011|By Isabel Kershner, New York Times

JERUSALEM - A new United Nations report that has been distributed to members of the Security Council strongly criticizes Israel for using live fire against unarmed demonstrators who tried to breach its border fence from Lebanon in May.

Related: Israel's Dharasana Moment

And the Globe already yanked down an article?

Israel is planning to respond in detail shortly in a letter to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, officials here said yesterday.

The United Nations has been a frequent battleground for Israel....

Seems like everywhere is a battleground for poow wittle Iswael.

The report states that Israel first issued verbal warnings and fired into the air before directing live fire at the mostly Palestinian protesters, killing seven civilians and injuring 111.

Add them to the thousands of other bodies over the last 60+ years.

But other than firing in the air, it said, Israel did not employ “conventional crowd control methods or any other method than lethal weapons against the demonstrators.’’

More broadly, the report deals with violations of Security Council Resolution 1701, which underpinned the cease-fire in the summer of 2006 that ended a monthlong war between Israel and Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant organization.

Israel does it all the time and nothing is ever done.

Israel violated the resolution during the events on the border May 15, the report said, noting the lethal force used by Israel was not commensurate to the imminent threat to Israeli soldiers and civilians.

The protesters also violated the resolution, it said, because of their provocative actions, including when about 1,000 protesters broke off and “threw stones and two petrol bombs across the fence and attempted to climb it and bring it down.’’

Oh, the old blame the victim bait-and-switch.

Up to 10,000 demonstrators arrived at the border area for Nakba Day, when Palestinians commemorate the “catastrophe’’ of Israel’s founding in 1948.

Of their own making.

The protests were organized by Palestinian and Lebanese organizations, including Hezbollah.

Ever notice AmeriKa and Israel never organize protests? Somehow they just happen.

Israeli officials have hinted anonymously that some of the casualties were caused by Lebanese Army soldiers who also opened fire.

F***ing shameless.

The UN report does not attribute any of the deaths to the Lebanese forces in the border area, saying the Lebanese Army attempted to control the crowd “using batons, tear gas, and heavy firing in the air.’’

Lieutenant Colonel Avital Leibovich, a spokeswoman for the Israeli military, said yesterday that the Lebanese forces used live fire but that it was impossible for Israel to determine the number or source of the casualties since the bodies were all on the Lebanese side of the fence.

Then Israelis killed them before they breached the territory? Then it's murder.

A senior Israeli military official said Wednesday that since the May 15 border confrontation, and a subsequent deadly confrontation June 5 along the frontier between Syria and the disputed Israeli-held Golan Heights, Israeli forces had been provided with more nonlethal equipment in order to reduce fatalities.

The official, who briefed reporters on condition of anonymity, said Israel was sorry for the loss of life.

Yeah, sure.

Activists in Lebanon canceled plans to march to Israel’s northern border again June 5, on the anniversary of the start of the 1967 Middle East war, after Lebanese authorities declared the area a closed military zone.

Israeli anger over the new UN report seemed mostly directed at its author, Michael Williams, the UN special coordinator for Lebanon. An Israeli official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the issue, said that Israel would not boycott Williams, who periodically visits Israel to meet with officials, but that Israel had decided “to take some distance from him for a while.’’

I wonder how long it will be before Zionist pressure makes Williams crack.

Back up in the air:

"Israeli airstrike kills 2 in Gaza" July 05, 2011|Ibrahim Barzak, Associated Press

An Israeli aircraft fired at Gaza militants about to launch rockets at Israel, killing two in the deadliest cross-border fighting in three months.

Israel’s military held Gaza’s Hamas rulers responsible, saying in a statement that the Islamists are “not enforcing a policy of restraint over the terrorist organizations operating in the Gaza Strip.’’

In a separate incident, Gaza militants fired at an army vehicle patrolling along the border in southern Gaza, lightly wounding the driver, the army said.

Relatives of the dead men said they were civilians, and local militant groups did not claim responsibility.

But Israeli media, quoting anonymous military officials, said they were believed to be members of a small armed faction inspired by al-Qaida
That would be the MOSSAD WING of "Al-CIA-Duh."

A militant website with links to the global terror network said the men were part of a group called “Tawhid.’’

Oh, a WEBSITE, huh?

One of "CIA-Duh's" greatest hits?

And yet we are STILL SHOVELED such S*** LIES as NEWS!

Several Qaida-inspired groups have sprouted up in Gaza in recent years. They consider Hamas as too moderate, despite the ruling group’s militant ideology. Hamas has tried to both crack down on the radicals and co-opt them.

Related: Hamas is "Al-CIA-Duh's" Enemy

Hundreds of people have been killed in fighting along the Israel-Gaza border in recent years. The most fighting took place in March, with militants firing rockets and heavy mortar barrages at Israel and Israel retaliating with airstrikes.

Yeah, Israel is always retaliating yet there are always more Palestinian dead.

Nineteen Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes over a two-day stretch in the second week of April after Gaza militants fired a rocket at an Israeli school bus....

That's where the printed paper cut it.

Both Israel and Hamas have largely honored an unofficial truce since April.

Well, Hamas has anyway.

Although Hamas did not appear to be connected to Tuesday’s incident, the bloodshed could nonetheless spark new fighting in the territory.

Israel says that since Hamas governs Gaza, it is responsible for any attacks emanating from the territory....

And Israel is responsible for all the Zionist zettlers and their violence.

A new round of violence could also add new uncertainty to reconciliation efforts between Hamas and the rival Fatah movement....

Why?

And CUI BONO?

It was CIA-Duh, you say?
