The tail of a crashed commercial jet was lifted by a crane in
Lagos, Nigeria. Emergency workers used dogs and cranes to hunt for
remains. It was feared many people on the ground were killed (Jon Gambrell/Associated Press)
But land in a field in Pennsylvania or on the lawn at the Pentagon and.... sigh.
LAGOS, Nigeria - A
crane hoisted the tail section of a
commercial jet from the
smoldering debris of a shattered neighborhood
Monday in a search for the dead from a crash that killed all 153 people
aboard and an unknown number on the ground.
Apartment buildings, small businesses, and roadside shops were
smashed to bricks and rubble Sunday when the Dana Air MD-83 plowed into
the area about 5 miles short of Murtala Muhammed International Airport
in Lagos.
Pilots on the flight from Nigeria’s capital of Abuja to its largest
city of Lagos radioed the tower that they had engine trouble shortly
before the crash, but the exact cause remained unclear. The weather was
clear at the time.
Is that what we are going to be told?
Some
US citizens were aboard the flight, State Department spokesman Mark
Toner said, but he could not provide a firm number. Others killed in the
crash included at least four Chinese citizens, two Lebanese citizens,
and one French citizen, officials said.
President Goodluck Jonathan wept Monday as he visited the Iju-Ishaga
neighborhood, where emergency workers labored. A
backhoe clawed at the
debris looking for the dead.
Jonathan pledged to make air travel safer, but the
crash called into
question the government’s ability to protect its citizens and enforce
regulations in a nation with a history of aviation disasters....
Aren't they the ones that also let the underwear patsy pass through?
Lagos state, home to 17.5 million people, has grown rapidly in recent
years and soon will be home to the most populous city in all of Africa.
Massive migration and urban sprawl have brought residential
neighborhoods to the boundaries of the airport....

Maybe I should try picking up a newspaper in Nigeria:
"Newspaper’s offices attacked in Nigeria
" April 27, 2012|By Bashir Adigun and Jon Gambrell
ABUJA, Nigeria - A
suicide bomber and a man armed with explosives
attacked two newspaper offices on Thursday,
killing seven people and
wounding at least 26.
The
radical Islamic sect Boko Haram said it
coordinated the attacks on Nigeria’s major daily newspaper ThisDay in
the capital, Abuja, and an office building it shares with two other
newspapers in the city of Kaduna. It
threatened to target other
journalists in the future....
In a statement published Thursday night by the Premium Times website,
a spokesman for Boko Haram said it would attack media again over what
the group sees as
inaccurate coverage.
I'd rather just call them out on it, thanks.
The sect is
blamed for
killing more than 440 people this year alone in its growing fight
against Nigeria’s weak central government, according to an Associated
Press count.
“This is a
war between us and the government of
Nigeria,’’ the website quoted a sect spokesman. “Unfortunately the
media
have not been objective and fair in their report of the ongoing war.
They chose to take side.’’
No, they NEVER ARE!!!

"16 killed in Nigeria university attack" Associated Press, April 30, 2012
KANO, Nigeria - Gunmen attacked church services on a
university campus Sunday in northern Nigeria, using small explosives to
draw out then fire on panicking worshipers in an assault that
killed at
least 16 people, officials said.
The attackers targeted an old section of Bayero
University’s campus where religious groups use a theater and other areas
to hold worship services, Kano state police spokesman Ibrahim Idris
said....
In a
separate attack Sunday in Maiduguri in northern
Nigeria, at least
five people were killed when a gunman opened fire in a
Church of Christ in Nigeria.
No group has claimed responsibility for either attack.
However, officials said the killings had the
hallmarks of a radical
Islamist sect known as Boko Haram....
That's a HALLMARK of a WESTERN INTELLIGENCE AGENCY OPERATION, readers!!

"Suicide blast kills at least 10 in Nigeria" Associated Press, May 01, 2012
JALINGO, Nigeria - A
motorcycle-riding suicide bomber
drove into a convoy carrying a top police official in northeast Nigeria
on Monday, detonating his explosives and
killing at least 10 people,
rescue officials said.
The attack targeted police Commissioner Mamman Sule who
was being driven in a convoy near the governor’s office in Jalingo, the
capital of Taraba state, said a police spokesman, Ibiang Mbaseki.
The
bomber missed Sule, but the explosives caused massive
damage at a roadside market and blew out the windows of the nearby
Ministry of Finance building, witnesses said....
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the
attack.
A-HA! ANOTHER HALLMARK of an intelligence agency false flag!
It comes after
gunmen attacked Christian worship services Sunday
at a university campus and a church in northern Nigeria,
killing at
least 21 people.
Did I mention I'm no longer buying the sectarian line of propaganda.
Cui bono when Christians and Muslims are at each others throats for no reason? What worldwide war agenda is advanced?
Sunday’s attacks
mirrored others carried out by a
radical
Islamist sect known as Boko Haram.
When I see that terminology in the paper (or that like it) I instantly think intelligence agency operation.
Representatives of Boko Haram could
not immediately be reached for comment.
Why didn't the media just go to the website (blog editor rolls his eyes towards the ceiling)?
Boko Haram is waging a battle with Nigeria’s central
government, using suicide car bombs and assault rifles in attacks across
the country’s predominantly Muslim north....
Uh-huh.

"Herdsmen attack village in Nigeria
" May 02, 2012
JOS,
Nigeria -
Muslim herdsmen razed Christian villages early Tuesday along a
central Nigerian plain where
ethnic and religious violence remains
rampant, killing at least six people and leaving
others homeless,
authorities said.
I'm getting tired of the narrative.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s
military said it carried
out a raid on a suspected hideout for members of a radical Islamist sect
who carried out an attack that killed at least 16 people on a
university campus holding church services.
The village assaults
occurred near the city of Jos, which has seen
thousands killed in the
last decade in riots and attacks between Christians and Muslims. The
Fulani herdsmen set fire to homes and shot those who fled, witnesses and
the police said....
On
Tuesday, US Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton issued a statement
condemning recent bombings and shootings in Nigeria blamed on the sect.
“We
are
concerned about attacks on churches, news media, and government
installations that increasingly
target innocent civilians across
Northern Nigeria,’’ Clinton said. “We condemn attempts by
those in
Nigeria who seek to inflame Christian-Muslim tensions, and support those
who recognize Nigeria’s ethnic and religious diversity as one of the
country’s greatest strengths.’’
That's darn near a confirmation, dear readers.
And really, WHO would want to DO such a thing?

"Vengeful gunmen kill 34 in Nigeria"
May 04, 2012
POTISKUM,
Nigeria - Robbers angered by a
crowd burning one of their colleagues
alive attacked a cattle market in northeast Nigeria,
killing at least 34
people in the latest
violence fanning across the region, witnesses and
an official said Thursday.
The violence began Wednesday, as gunmen
started shooting at the market in Potiskum. Three people were killed in
the gunfire, which ended when the attackers ran out of ammunition,
witnesses said.
All but one of the
gunmen escaped. Those gathered
in the market beat the remaining gunman before dousing him in gasoline
and lighting him afire, a punishment still meted out by mobs in a nation
where few trust the federal police force.
The gunmen returned, setting fire to cattle holding pens and cars.
Potiskum General Hospital took in 34 bodies, an official there said.
