A Winthrop man received the maximum penalty for his eighth drunk driving conviction and for attempting to swing a bench at the state trooper who arrested him, Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said. Joseph F. Limone, 61, was convicted Feb. 15 in Suffolk Superior Court of operating under the influence as a fifth or subsequent offense, assault with a dangerous weapon, and malicious destruction of property, said Jake Wark, a spokesman for Conley’s office. He was sentenced to five years in state prison on the drunk driving charge and 15 years of probation on the assault charge, Wark said."
