Slow Saturday Special: Zemack's Accident

"Framingham woman involved in fatal ambulance crash arraigned

A Framingham woman charged with running a stop sign and striking an ambulance, killing the patient inside, has been released without bail. The Milford Daily News reported that not-guilty pleas were entered on behalf of Lisa Zemack, 61, at her arraignment Thursday on charges including motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation. She is not allowed to drive. Police said a Mercedes Benz driven by Zemack struck the ambulance in Milford on Jan. 21. The patient — Karen Scott, 58, of Upton, who was lying in a stretcher — went into cardiac arrest and died. She was returning to a nursing center after receiving dialysis."
