Sunday Globe Special: Pope Francis Steps in Shit

I'm told this is ‘‘real life, not some TV show’’ as he lectured the Muslims:

"Pope urges world to shed apathy toward threat of world war" by Colleen Barry | Associated Press   September 14, 2014

REDIPUGLIA, Italy — Pope Francis urged the world Saturday to shed its apathy in the face of what he characterizes as a third world war, ‘‘one fought piecemeal, with crimes, massacres, destruction,’’ blaming “geopolitical strategies, lust for money and power.’’

Here I am and have been for eight years.

He lamented that the human toll of ‘‘senseless massacres’’ and ‘‘mindless wars’’ has been met with apathy. Francis urged: ‘‘Humanity needs to weep, and this is the time to weep.’’

I've done enough of that lately. now I'm just angry at the never-ending lies.

The enduring effects of World War I, 100 years on, are evident in the visitors who continue to make pilgrimages to the monument

Even calls for peace are steeped in war worship.

Francis’s aim in recalling those who died in the Great War, which broke out 100 years ago, was to honor the victims of all wars. It came at a time when his calls for peace have grown ever more urgent amid new threats in the Middle East and Ukraine....

"In a separate interview with Italian TV, Patriarch Louis Sako of Baghdad called for an international military effort, including Arab nations, to bring down the self-declared caliphate. He objected to the current US strikes, not on pacifist grounds, but because they don’t go far enough. If the United States was serious, Sako said, it would go after ISIS in Mosul."

SIGH!

Well, it is not like the Catholic Church has never been bloodthirsty before. I seem to remember something in my dogmatic history books called the Crusades.

Time to wipe off the bottom of the papal shoes:
