"Narcotics agent charged in shooting

NEW YORK — An off-duty New York state narcotics investigator was arrested after his gun discharged during a struggle with an acquaintance, injuring two bystanders, police said. Victor H. Zambrano Jr. was leaving a bar in Manhattan on Friday night when the acquaintance took the 40-caliber semiautomatic pistol. A 42-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were injured. Zambrano was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest (New York Times)."
