Nolte Reborn
"A former Boston-area computer industry consultant was found guilty Friday of assuming the identity of a deceased infant and using the identity to obtain a Social Security number, authorities said. Steven Nolte, 51, was convicted of passport fraud, aggravated identity theft, and use of a falsely obtained Social Security number, according to the office of US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz. In 1997, Nolte assumed the identity of a 4-day-old infant who died in 1966, Ortiz’s office said. He was allegedly in the process of stealing more than $571,000 from a company for which he provided services, the US attorney’s office said. Nolte then traveled to Costa Rica, after using his identity to acquire a passport, where the money had been transferred. He later settled in the Boston area, Ortiz’s office said."
