Cubans Holding CIA Spy

Or is he Mossad?

Or is he even who the newspaper says he is?

Is this another case of stolen passports and fake identities?

"US officials ask Cuba to free jailed American; Nations at odds over whether man was a spy" by Paul Haven, Associated Press | February 20, 2010

HAVANA - Top US diplomats used a high-level meeting with their Cuban counterparts yesterday to call for the release of an American held in a maximum security prison without charge for nearly three months.

After what we have done at Gitmo the U.S has some god-damned nerve.

AmeriKa has been hanging around with Israel for to long because we stink of her arrogance.

Cuba alleges that Alan P. Gross is a spy whose arrest proves Washington is still out to topple the island’s communist government. Gross’s family maintains he is a veteran development worker who went to Cuba to distribute communications equipment to Jewish groups....

You know, things spies might need to use.

Gross has been held since early December at Havana’s high-security Villa Marista jail.

Gross’s company, DAI of Bethesda, Md., says he was distributing communications equipment to Cuba’s tiny Jewish community, not to dissidents. Nonetheless, such equipment is tightly controlled by the communist government....

Imagine how you would feel, American, if "Al-CIA-Duh" were to come here and distribute "communications equipment."

Reading the newspapers as long as I have and knowing who and what they represent now I see the concealing cover-up through what vaguries and omissions are there.

Elizardo Sanchez, head of the independent Cuban Commission on Human Rights and National Reconciliation, said he and other dissident leaders were invited to talk to the US delegation later yesterday. Such a meeting is not unusual when US diplomats visit - but is sure to rankle Cuban leaders, who describe dissidents as Washington’s paid stooges.

Yeah, that is the one bit of truth that you get in this piece.

The regularly scheduled migration talks came at a low point in relations between two Cold War enemies....

Why? Cold War has been over for 20 years.

Oh, right, special and well-connected interests.

The Cubans said the talks at an undisclosed location in Havana were positive and respectful, while the United States called them part of a larger, constructive process.

Considering things were at a low point, where else was there to go?

I would never trust the United States if I were a foreign nation given the our history of CIA interventions the last 50+ years.

"Communists say US fuels opposition

HAVANA - Cuba scolded a top US delegation yesterday for meeting with political opposition leaders after high-level immigration discussions, saying it proves Washington is out to topple the country’s Communist government. A senior American official defended the meeting, saying US policy is to reach out to all sectors of Cuban society - not just the Communist government. But enraged Cuban leaders say the dissidents are paid agents of Washington who were planted to destabilize the island’s political system.

Naw, we never do that to anyone, right, 'murkn?!

Of course, if anyone can spot CIA it would be Cuba -- the victim of more U.S. terrorism over the last 51 years than any other country on earth.
