Burned by 911 Call

I don't understand what happened because the report is vague.

"Lowell man is charged in baby’s scalding" by Vivian Ho, Globe Correspondent | August 7, 2010

Police arrested a Lowell man yesterday in the case of an 11-month-old baby who was scalded with hot water in their home earlier this week, according to a statement from city police.

Seiha Vorn, the live-in boyfriend of the baby’s mother, was charged with assault and battery on a child.

The baby, Ivan Yonn, was allegedly in Vorn’s care when he sustained second-degree burns over 60 percent of his body early Wednesday, police said.

The baby was reported in critical condition at Massachusetts General Hospital, but police have said they do not believe his injuries are life-threatening.

Police responded to calls about the injured child and found him in his home on Lyons Street about 9 a.m. Wednesday in “obvious distress and exhibiting visible injuries consistent with severe scalding,’’ according to a news release.

WHO CALLED?

And how did the police get in the house to "find" him?

He was flown from Cawley Stadium in Lowell to Boston for treatment.

Vorn, 27, is not the baby’s biological father, police said. He is to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court, said Cara O’Brien, spokeswoman for the Middlesex district attorney’s office.

--more--"

I guess we will find out more.

Cooking dinner, maybe pasta, trip and fall, boiling water hits kid, I don't know what happened and the Globe doesn't really tell me anything except this guy is charged with a crime.
