"Mass. National Guard soldier is wounded in Afghan bombing; Marshfield woman recovering in D.C." by Alex Katz, Globe Correspondent | August 7, 2010
As the Defense Department announced the combat death of a New Hampshire soldier in Afghanistan, a soldier from Marshfield was recovering yesterday in Washington, D.C. after being seriously wounded by a roadside bomb in the war zone.
Breinne Travers, a sergeant in the Massachusetts National Guard, was with several other guardsmen Tuesday when their vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device, said Rachael Riquier, a childhood friend of Travers’s who grew up with her in Norton and now lives in Connecticut.
That now means regular Army, America.

And they left with such optimism!
Travers is in the intensive care unit at Walter Reed Army Medical Center with her immediate family by her side. They did not wish to comment, but her brother Chuck indicated in a Facebook posting that she is in good spirits and “will be fine.’’

Travers was on her second tour of duty in Afghanistan....
In a Feb. 9, 2003, Globe article, Travers, then a specialist in heavy equipment operation, was interviewed in Fort Drum, N.Y., before her first deployment. As she and the other 139 other men and women prepared to ship out, Travers admitted to being apprehensive....
Master Sergeant Jared N. Van Aalst, 34, of Laconia, N.H., died Wednesday in Afghanistan’s Kunduz province of wounds suffered during combat operations, the Defense Department announced. He was assigned to the US Army Special Operations Command in Fort Bragg, N.C.
Van Aalst, who was serving his sixth tour of combat, enlisted in the Army as a signal support systems specialist in 1995 and later became a sniper team leader, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

"Injured soldier talks of returning to Afghanistan; Driving vehicle, 14-year veteran hurt in explosion" by John R. Ellement, Globe Staff | August 12, 2010
The mother of a Massachusetts National Guard soldier wounded in Afghanistan said yesterday that her daughter sustained facial injuries, is fighting to regain her health, and wants to return to Afghanistan.
Patricia Travers said in a telephone interview that she spent most of last week at the bedside of her daughter, Sergeant Breinne Travers, at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
’’She’s very lucky; she’s alive,’’ Travers said. “I can’t believe it.’’
So she has a death wish, huh?
Guilt because she is still alive?
******
Travers was driving a military vehicle in Afghanistan last week when the vehicle hit an improvised explosive device, according to her mother.
This is what the NATIONAL GUARD is doing these days!
The detonation sent shrapnel into the vehicle’s cabin, and Travers was struck in the face and body by the flying metal, her mother said....
Patricia Travers said her daughter was wounded in the mouth, but the major medical concern is her heavily damaged left eye....
According to her mother, Travers has set a goal for herself. “The first thing she said was: ‘I’ve got to go back. I started a job, and I will finish it,’ ’’ Patricia Travers said.
Travers said she hopes her daughter fully regains her health and is qualified to return to active duty. But she also said that, as a mother, she hopes her daughter stays home.
As a CARING, THINKING, FEELING PERSON I wish they WOULD ALL STAY HOME since they are FIGHTING for a LIE!!!
“I’d like her not to, but it has nothing to do with what I feel or not,’’ she said. “If she wants to go, she will go if they will take her. . . . She’s going to be all right.’’
Okay, then I WON'T WORRY ABOUT IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!
And how many more are going to die?
"Soldier who grew up in NH killed in Afghanistan

Burnham said Nicol's current address is listed as Eaton, Michigan. He was serving with the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment out of Fort Benning, Georgia."

As KILLINGS ROSE?
What is WRONG with AmeriKan JOURNALISM, readers!!
Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, yeah, you know whose fault it is (according to the globalist murderers):
KABUL, Afghanistan — The number of Afghan civilians killed or injured in the war soared 31 percent in the first six months of the year, with Taliban bombings and assassinations largely responsible for the rise, the United Nations reported yesterday.
I was just told it was 6 percent, sigh.
So sick of the lying f***ing s*** MSM!!!!!!!!!!!
Hidden bombs and suicide attacks are killing and maiming so many Afghans that Amnesty International urged the Afghan government to seek prosecution of Taliban leaders for war crimes.
Oh, yeah?
Well, WHERE ARE THEY on the MASSIVE WAR CRIMES of ISRAEL and the U.S., huh?
Yup, AI is nothing but ANOTHER PIECE of ISRAELI-SERVING PoS!
Women and children are increasingly becoming victims — even as NATO restrains the use of force on the battlefield.
Yup, they are ESCALATING OPERATIONS but restraining the use of force.
This is a WASTE of TIME to READ THIS SHIT PROPAGANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The UN report found the number of deaths and injuries caused by NATO and Afghan government forces dropped by 30 percent compared with the first six months of last year, largely a result of curbs on the use of air power and heavy weapons.
Well, you CAN NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING the U.N. says anymore, either!
R.I.P., U.N.!!!
But the overall sharp rise in deaths and injuries indicates the war is growing ever more violent, undermining the coalition....
And the SHIT MSM that SERVES 'EM!!!
And WHY would that be true if it were Taliban responsible for the violence?
Wouldn't that BOLSTER the COALITION?
Yup, SHIT MSM never thinks that far ahead because they t'ink wees 'too-pid, Amurkns!
Two suicide bombers yesterday attacked a building rented by a private security company in Kabul, killing two company drivers. Four other civilians were killed by Taliban bombs yesterday — one in Ghazni and one in Kandahar — according to police....

"Now stop and think here for a moment. All revolutions depend on public support. Revolutionaries try to first win the people before they take on the government. So, no revolutionary goes out and murders civilians in cold blood. Did Washington and his men just mow down a marketplace of their fellow colonials for the heck of it? No, they did not. Washington and the Founding Fathers knew that their revolution to build a new country needed the support of those who would live in that country. This is true for every revolution in history. Therefore, these acts of terror being blamed on the insurgency must all be fakes, committed by intelligence agencies working for the governments to be blamed on the insurgents in order to destroy public support for the revolution." -- Wake the Flock Up

"3 coalition members killed in Afghanistan" by Associated Press | August 14, 2010
KABUL, Afghanistan — Three international coalition service members were killed in the south of Afghanistan, while US and Afghan forces stepped up operations against a Taliban faction linked to Al Qaeda, arresting key militants, officials said yesterday.

Oh, AmeriKa's MSM KNOWS ALL ABOUT and yet STILL PUSHES the CHARADE, huh?Britain’s Ministry of Defense said one British soldier was killed yesterday by small-arms fire in the Sangin district of Helmand Province. Another serviceman who was injured Tuesday in an incident involving a helicopter at a patrol base also in Helmand died Thursday at a hospital in Britain, the ministry said.
NATO reported the death of a third coalition service member after an insurgent attack yesterday in southern Afghanistan. NATO did not disclose the nationality of the service member or details about the death.
Who cares?
They all want to be there, so....
After four years of screaming for an end on the blog and the realization that the wars aren't ending anytime soon (if ever) and that there are going to be more of them before that has left me in a state of indifference when it comes to the empire's war dead.
F*** 'em!
In the east, NATO said a raid on Thursday in the Mandozai district of Khost Province led to the capture of a deputy commander of the Haqqani group who had been supplying weapons to other members of the network.
Oh, the Haqqani group, huh?
"Haqqani.... credited with introducing suicide bombing to the region.... cultivated as a "unilateral" asset of the CIA and received tens of thousands of dollars in cash for his work.... He may have had a role in expediting the escape of Osama Bin Laden.... In July 2008, CIA officials confronted Pakistan officials with evidence of ties between Inter-Services Intelligence and Haqqani. Haqqani has been accused of involvement in the 2008 Indian embassy bombing in Kabul...."
Yeah, I guess they WOULD HAVE KNOWN WHERE to find him!
He was not identified, but NATO said he was among several Haqqani group members rounded up in the raid.

"Coalition troops attack Taliban faction in east" by Deb Riechmann, Associated Press | August 15, 2010
KABUL, Afghanistan — More than 20 insurgents — including Arab, Chechen, and Pakistani fighters — have been killed by NATO and Afghan forces who are stepping up operations in the east against a Taliban faction linked to Al Qaeda, the international coalition said yesterday.
The CIA's Taliban, huh?
Separately, three more NATO troops — an American, a Briton, and an Australian — died in insurgent attacks in the volatile south, officials of the three countries said yesterday.
Who cares?
The joint force operation began Wednesday against dozens of insurgents holed up in a mountainous area of the Zadran district of Paktia Province. The operation focused on disrupting the Haqqani network’s movement in an area used to stage attacks in the capital, Kabul, and along a highway that links Khost Province and Gardez, the provincial capital of Paktia, NATO said.
Again?
More than 20 insurgents have been killed, the coalition said. Combined security forces also discovered and destroyed several explosive devices and bomb-making equipment, including trip wire and blasting caps, weapons and ammunition. A coalition airstrike destroyed an enemy ammunitions bunker, NATO said.
Yeah, sure they found all that stuff.
Sick of the PSYOPS, too, s***ters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Three small children were killed, and their mother was wounded when a civilian house was hit by an insurgent rocket in Khost city late Friday, provincial spokesman Mubarez Zadran said. He said the insurgents appeared to have been aiming at a coalition base but missed.
The United States considers the Haqqani group, led by Jalaluddin Haqqani and his son Sirajuddin, as one of the most dangerous Taliban networks, because of its links to Al Qaeda.
Would you LIKE a SECOND-HELPING of MSM S***, readers?
Two other operations in June resulted in the deaths of more than 50 Haqqani fighters.
And yet SOMEHOW the WAR GETS WORSE even though we are WINNING!
Afghan and coalition forces killed 17 fighters — including a commander, Fazil Subhan — during a fierce firefight in Khost Province June 9, NATO said. A week later, in the Jani Khel district of Paktia Province, Afghan and coalition forces killed at least 35 insurgents.
Elsewhere, NATO announced that Afghan troops and a US Marine special operations team had moved last week into an area of northern Badghis Province that had been under insurgent control for two years.
NATO officials had no further details about the death of the American service member yesterday.Did I say I was interested?
