"Economic prosperity in India fuels bigger traffic jams and shorter fuses" by Nirmala George, Associated Press / January 16, 2011

NEW DELHI —Road rage is on the rise, fueled by the country’s economic boom and the masses of new vehicles it is adding to the already crowded roads....

Sociologist Abhilasha Kumari also senses a change in attitude as the country’s new economic wealth makes society more materialistic.

Gandhi would be rolling in his grave were his ashes not dumped in the Ganges.

"India’s labs vulnerable, cables say" by Ravi Nessman, Associated Press / December 18, 2010

NEW DELHI — US officials fear that lax security at Indian laboratories could make the facilities targets for terrorists seeking biological weapons to launch attacks across the globe, according leaked US diplomatic cables made public yesterday....

The cables also dealt with accusations of Indian torture in Kashmir,  and the concerns of Rahul Gandhi — seen as India’s prime minister-in-waiting — that Hindu extremists posed a greater danger to India than Islamist militants....

Gandhis are so great!

Another cable released yesterday revealed the extent of India’s frustration with Pakistan....

Yes, the article is mostly about that and the "terrorists."
